Ayat 124 to 128: Instructions to the Prophet (الدعاة (نعم هللا في سورة النحل ( Nahl Blessings of Allah (swt) in Surah An (النعم الظاهرة) Apparent blessings Ayah :2 ( ي ن ز ل ب ٱلر و أ م ٱلم ل ٮ ك ة ح م ن ره ۦ ع ل ى م ن ي ش ا ء م ن ع ب اد ه ۦ أ ن أ نذ ر و ا أ ن ه ۥ ال إ ل ه إ ال أ ن ا ف ٱت ق و ن ) (He sends down the angels with Ruh (revelation) of His Command to whom of His slaves He wills (saying): "Warn mankind that Lâ ilâha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so fear Me (by abstaining from sins and evil deeds).) Inspiration :(الوحي) Allah (swt) inspires the messengers by sending angels to them. Inspiration is only in Allah s Hands. Page 1

2 Ayah 3: ( خ ل ق ٱلس م و ٲ ت و ب ٱل ت ع ل ى ع م ا ي ش ٱ ل ر ض ح ق رك و ن ) (He has created the heavens and the earth with truth. High is He Exalted above all they associate as partners with Him) Heavens and the earth ( و ا لرض :(السماوات everything in this universe is here for a reason, and we need to appreciate this. We should not think why is it there? because Allah (swt) said it s created in truth. نس ن م ن ن طف ة ف إ ذ ا ه و خ ص يم م ب ين ( :4 Ayah (He has created man from Nutfah (mixed drops of male and ) خ ل ق ٱ ل female sexual discharge), then behold, this same (man) becomes an open opponent) Creation of the human from a small drop ( ا لنسان من عدم :(خلق Allah (swt) gave us so much and look at how we re responding being argumentative, istaghfar Allah. This is ingratitude. ت أڪ ل و ن ( 5: Ayah (And the cattle, He has created them for you; in them ) و ٱ ل ن ع م خ ل ق ه ا ل ڪ م ف يه ا د ف ء و م ن ف ع و م نه ا there is warmth (warm clothing), and numerous benefits, and of them you eat) Cattle :(ا لنعام) Allah (swt) subjected the cattle for us, otherwise we wouldn t be able to handle them or benefit from them, subhan Allah. و ٱل خ ي ل و ٱلب غ ا ل و ٱل ح م ي ر ل ت ر ڪ ب وه ا زين ة و ي خ ل ق م ا ال ت ع ل م و ن ( :8 Ayah (And (He has created) horses, mules and ) و donkeys, for you to ride and as an adornment. And He creates (other) things of which you have no knowledge) Transport :(التنقالت) Allah (swt) made the means of transport easy for us and He creates things we don t know. Ayah :9 ( و ع ل ى ٱهلل ق ص د ٱلس ب ي ل و م نه ا ج ا ٮ ر و ل و ش ا ء ل ه د ٮڪ م أ ج م ع ي ن ) (And upon Allâh is the responsibility to explain the Straight Path, But there are ways that turn aside. And had He willed, He would have guided you all (mankind).) (الهداية) (swt) Guidance is from Allah Ayah :10 ( ه و ٱل ذ ى أ نز ل م ن ٱلس م ا ء م ا ء ل ك م م ن ه ش ر اب و م ن ه ش ج ر ف ي ه ت س يم و ن ) (He it is Who sends down water (rain) from the sky; from it you drink and from it (grows) the vegetation on which you send your cattle to pasture) Water :(الماء) when you list the blessings you truly see how small and insignificant we are, subhan Allah. Ayah :11 ( ي ن ب ت ل ك م ب ه ٱلز ر ع و ٱلز ي ت و ن و ٱلن خ ي ل و ٱ ل ع ن ب و م ن ڪ ل ٱلث م ر ٲ ت إ ن ف ى ذ ٲل ك ل ي ة ل ق و م ي ت ف ڪ ر و ن ) (With it He causes to grow for you the crops, the olives, the date-palms, the grapes, and every kind of fruit. Verily! In this is indeed an evident proof and a manifest sign for people who give thought) (الزرع) Plants Page 2

3 ۥ ب أ م ٱلق م ر و ٱلن ج وم م س خ ر ٲت ره ۦ إ ن ف ى ذ ٲل ك ل ي ت ل ق و م ي ع ق ل و ن ( :12 Ayah (And He has ) و س خ ر ل ڪ م ٱل ي ل و ٱلن ه ا ر و ٱلش م س و subjected to you the night and the day, the sun and the moon; and the stars are subjected by His Command. Surely, in this are proofs for people who understand.) Subjection of the entire universe ( الكون :(تسخير imagine the huge galaxies and planets, all in an organized system, are subjected to the small human being, subhan Allah. And people worship the sun or complain about the sun, subhan Allah. Ayah :13 ( و م ا ذ ر أ ل ڪ م ف ى ٱ ل ر ض م خت ل فا أ ل و ٲن ه إ ن ف ى ذ ٲل ك ل ي ة ل ق و م ي ذ ڪ ر و ن ) (And whatsoever He has created for you on the earth of varying colours [and qualities from vegetation and fruits (botanical life) and from animals (zoological life)]. Verily! In this is a sign for people who remember) Beauty of the earth ( ا لرض :(تجميل you have different colors, imagine how it would be if it was just black or white, subhan Allah. نعم يخرجها رب العالمين من حيث ( imagine Hidden blessings which Allah (swt) brings forth from where we can t (ال نتصور ل ت أڪ ل وا م ن ه ل ح ما ط ريا رج وا م ن ه ح لي ة ت ل ب س ون ه ا و ت ر ى ٱل ف ل ك م و اخ ر ف ي ه و ل ت ب ت غ وا م ن ف ض ل ه ۦ ( :14 Ayah و ه و ٱل ذ ى س خ ر و ت س ت خ ٱل ب ح ر (And He it is Who has subjected the sea (to you), that you eat thereof fresh tender meat ) و ل ع ل ڪ م ت ش ك ر و ن (i.e. fish), and that you bring forth out of it ornaments to wear. And you see the ships ploughing through it, that you may seek (thus) of His Bounty and that you may be grateful) Sea :(البحر) the sea is vast and scary, a person can easily drown in it, but there s a special food from it seafood. And you have adornment from pearls and corals. Sometimes we get numb with the blessings and not feel them, but we need to activate our feelings. Allah (swt) says in order you may be grateful. Ayah :15 ( و أ لق ى ف ى ٱ ل ر ض ر و ٲس ى أ ن ت م ي د ب ڪ م و أ نہ را و س ب ال ل ع ل ڪ م ت ہ ت د و ن ) (And He has affixed into the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you, and rivers and roads, that you may guided) Mountains :(الجبال) the mountains protect the earth from shaking. This is a hidden blessing. Ayah 16: ( و ع ل م ت و ب ٱلن ج م ه م ي ہ ت د و ن ) (And landmarks (signposts, during the day) and by the stars (during the night), they (mankind) guide themselves) Stars :(النجوم) guiding stars for direction. Ayah 18: ( و إ ن ت ع د وا ن ع م ة ٱهلل ال ت ح ص وه ا إ ن ٱ هلل ل غ ف ور ر ح يم ) (And if you would count the favours of Allâh, never could you be able to count them. Truly! Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.) We can t grasp all of the blessings of Allah (swt); we re always lacking though Allah (swt) is Al Ghafoor Ar Raheem. Page 3

4 Ayah :66 ( و إ ن ل ك م ف ى ٱ ل ل ع ب ر ة ن س ق يك م م م ا ف ى ب ط ون ه ۦ م ن ب ي ن ف ر ث و د م ل ب نا خ ال صا س ا ٮ غا نع م ل لش رب ي ن ) (And verily! In the cattle, there is a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, from between excretions and blood, pure milk; palatable to the drinkers.) Milk :(اللبن) milk that comes forth from the stomachs of the cattle Ayah :67 ( و م ن ث م ر ٲ ت ٱلن خ ي ل و ٱ ل ت ت خ ذ و ن م ن ه س ڪ را و ع ن ب ر زقا ف ى ذ ٲل ك ل ي ة ل ق و م ي ع ق ل و ن ) (And from the fruits of ح س نا إ ن date-palms and grapes, you derive strong drink and a goodly provision. Verily, therein is indeed a sign for people who have a mind.) (الشراب) Fruit drinks ث م ك ل ى م ن ك ل ٱلث م ر ٲ ت ف ٱس ل ك ى س ب ل ر ب ك ذ ل ال ي خ ر ج م ن ب ط ون ه ا ش ر اب م خت ل ف أ ل و ٲن ه ۥ ف ي ه ش ف ا ء ل لن ا س إ ن ف ى ذ ٲل ك ل ي ة ( :69 Ayah ("Then, eat of all fruits, and follow the ways of your Lord made easy (for you)." There comes ) ل ق و م ي ت ف ك ر و ن forth from their bellies, a drink of varying colour wherein is healing for men. Verily, in this is indeed a sign for people who think.) (العسل) Honey Ayah :70 ( و ٱهلل خ ل ق ك م ث م ي ت و ف ٮك م و م نك م م ن ي ر د إ ل ى أ ر ذ ل ٱلع م ر ل ك ى ال ي ع ل م ب ع د ع لم ش ي ا إ ن ٱهلل ع ل يم ق د ير ) (And Allâh has created you and then He will cause you to die, and of you there are some who are sent back to senility, so that they know nothing after having known (much). Truly! Allâh is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.) (الحياة و الموت ( death Life and ق ف م ا ٱل ذ ي ن ف ض ل وا ب ر ا د ى ر زق ه م ع ل ى م ا م ل ڪ ت أ ي م ن ہ م ف ه م ف ي ه س و ا ء أ ف ب ن ع م ة ٱهلل ( :71 Ayah و ٱهلل ف ض ل ب ع ض ك م ع ل ى ب ع ض ف ى ٱلر ز (And Allâh has preferred some of you above others in wealth and properties. Then, those who (ي ج ح د ون are preferred will by no means hand over their wealth and properties to those (slaves) whom their right hands possess, so that they may be equal with them in respect thereof. Do they then deny the Favour of Allâh?) (الرزق) Provision و ٱهلل ج ع ل ل ك م م ن أ نف س ك م أ ز و ٲجا و ج ع ل ل ك م م ن أ ز و ٲج ڪ م ب ن ي ن و ح ف د ة و ر ز ق ك م م ن ٱلط ي ب ت أ ف ب ٱل ب ط ل ي ؤ م ن و ن و ب ن ع م ت ٱهلل ( :72 Ayah you, (And Allâh has made for you Azwaj (makes or wives) of your own kind, and has made for (ه م ي كف ر و ن from your wives, sons and grandsons, and has bestowed on you good provision. Do they then believe in false deities and deny the Favour of Allâh (by not worshipping Allâh Alone).) Spouses, children and grandchildren ( بنين و حفدة :(أزواج we have bonds between our families, unlike animals who don t even know who their grandparents or grandchildren are, subhan Allah. Ayah :78 ( و ٱهلل أ خ ر ج ك م م ن ب طو ن أ م ه ت ك م ال ت ع ل م و ن ش ي ا و ج ع ل ل ك م ٱلس م ع و ٱ ل ب ص ر و ٱ ل ف د ة ل ع ل ك م ت ش ك ر و ن ) (And Allâh has brought you out from the wombs of your mothers while you know nothing. And He gave you hearing, sight, and hearts that you might give thanks (to Allâh).) Page 4

5 خروج من بطن ا لم ( heart To be brought out from our mother s stomachs, and given hearing, seeing and (و السمع و البصر و الفؤاد Extra blessings in order to submit ال ٱهلل إ ن ف ى ذ ٲل ك ل ي ت ل ق و م ي ؤ م ن و ن ( :79 Ayah (Do they not see the (أ ل م ي ر و ا إ ل ى ٱلط ي ر م س خ ر ٲت ف ى ج و ٱلس م ا ء م ا ي م س ك ه ن إ birds held (flying) in the midst of the sky? None holds them but Allâh [none gave them the ability to fly but Allâh]. Verily, in this are clear Ayat (proofs and signs) for people who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh).) Birds :(الطيور) Allah (swt) is holding the birds when they fly, so what about the human? Will He not take care of you? Of course. و ٱهلل ج ع ل ل ك م م ن ب ي وت ڪ م س ك نا و ج ع ل ل ك م م ن ج ل و د ٱ ل نع م ب ي وتا ت س ت خ ف ون ه ا ي و م ظ ع ن ك م و ي و م إ ق ام ت ڪ م و م ن أ ص و اف ه ا ( :80 Ayah (And Allâh has made for you in your homes an abode, and made for you ) و أ و ب اره ا و أ ش ع اره ا أ ث ثا و م ت عا إ ل ى ح ين out of the hides of the cattle (tents for) dwelling, which you find so light (and handy) when you travel and when you stay (in your travels), and of their wool, fur, and hair (sheep wool, camel fur, and goat hair), a furnishings and articles of convenience (e.g. carpets, blankets), a comfort for a while.) (البيت و ا لثاث ( furniture House and ب أس ڪ م ك ذ ٲل ك ي ت م ( :81 Ayah و ٱهلل ج ع ل ل ك م م م ا خ ل ق ظ ل ال و ج ع ل ل ك م م ن ٱلج ب ا ل أ ڪ ن نا و ج ع ل ل ك م س ر ٲب ي ل ت ق يڪ م ٱلح ر و س ر ٲب ي ل ت ق يك م (And Allâh has made for you out of that which He has created shades, and has (ن ع م ت ه ۥ ع ل ي ڪ م ل ع ل ك م ت س ل م و ن made for you places of refuge in the mountains, and has made for you garments to protect you from the heat, and coats of mail to protect you from your (mutual) violence. Thus does He perfect His Favour unto you, that you may submit yourselves to His Will (in Islâm).)
