Sigthings down in W&W but this is being looked into (350+) as it may be a misplaced Q1 file etc. Every area had a reduction in evasion of at least 1%. Unidentified boats down from 162 to 129.

2 Boats not in process down in all categories 93 cases being investigated to understand why they weren t still in process. These results help to show the monthly data collection and enforcement processes are working as boats are getting into process quickly. As a result the interim check for Sept is being cancelled and next March will be the last full check as indicative rates will be published moving forward. Emma (BLT) off with dislocated knee looking at providing equipment for her to work from home. Linzi Dean (Boating Support Supervisor) is about to go on maternity leave and her man management duties will be picked up by Jane Lee. At present we are not intending to backfill so requests for data / reports etc may be delayed but will be reviewed if it becomes an issue. Team objectives paper circulated to all team members linking in with Golden Thread from CRT strategies. PDR process underway but not very positive feedback so far to new self-appraisal form which needs to be completed wording too confusing. System and Process changes Dangerous boat process rolled out to be used when notification received from BSS about a failure. Revised CC process so that when we revoke a licence we refund immediately, rather than wait for disks to be returned (following complaint to Ombudsman) Ghost mooring and DPA letter to marinas all in process to boost options for validating home moorings key objective for Boating Co-ordinators next year. Test version of the MoBIS boat sighting system out with Thrupp Canal Cruising Club. A number of issues still need to be resolved before it can go live but these are delayed (again) due to pressures on the Web team. Apr 11 we had over 60 boats, this year we have 20 of which only 5 (2 in storage and 3 awaiting destruction) are outside processes we can do anything about (7 TORTS, 7 on brokerage, 1 in mandatory 6 weeks holding). Issue where we seized a boat that was licensed but contract wasn t showing against boat in SAP. Boat has been returned and customer given 100 goodwill gesture. Also Griffin returned by Waterway as Thames 21 no longer want the boat (unlicensed for number of years but formal transfer from BW never completed by waterway). Large fishing vessel removed from BW mooring site. Sunk in Jan but removed by end of March very expensive removal and disposal ( 30K) which prompts again the need to look at a salvage bond for these large boats. Next year focus will switch from volume and onto monitoring time taken between S8 sign off and boat removal and between boat removal and destruction. Complaints Year end flurry with 5 new complaints in March (2 licensing, 2 overstaying and 1 personnel). Year total 35, last year (excluding BLT) was 41.. BLT A few issue with sickness and holidays but still 90% of licences processed within the same day. The increase in processing has already started as the reports below show. Due to staff sickness and multiple bank holidays the planned visits by other Enforcement staff to BLT have been postponed. Focus next year will be to monitor and report same day processing rates, with a view to setting target percentages. Also to continue the visibility and reporting of query processing. Court Issues 2 new cases sent to Shoosmiths, including 1 CC case which has already been up to Ombudsman. 2 Liveaboard cases (Naiad, Kamiolla) were in court in March, 1 early April (The Lady May) all orders received. Work now underway on communication etc to boaters. Still a large number of boats used by our Contracts either unidentified or unlicensed which is causing issues for the team. Will be taken up with Jason and Andy Nicholls. Quotes for boat removal help (Sherforce / Rossendales) being sought scheduled for wk beginning 9 th July. Waterway now taking on manning of checkpoint with Enforcement providing 7 day per week cover rota currently being worked upon but likely to be covered by Team South. Weekend working all teams have been asked to work 2 weekends this year as part of their contract. Additional patrol boat we have transferred a boat which was up for disposal from M&P waterway into our team to replace the patrol boat lost to arson last year.
