2 ABOUT THE CLASS AND EVENT SCHEDULE The FAST40+ Class was engineered by Rob Greenhalgh (Class president) to create a circuit for light displacement 40 foot yachts to compete regularly in a close and competitive class. The class races under a box rule with only a small handicap spread amongst the fleet to keep the racing tight. Boats must have a hull length of m, a max draft of 3 metres, a displacement length ratio of less than 90 and speed ratio of greater than If that doesn t mean anything to you, it translates into either a GP 42, Carkeek 40 mkt 2, Ker 40+ and a few other designs. The FAST40+ series consist of 8 regattas spread over the year with a mixture of windward leeward races of around an hour, and longer races during Round the Island and Cowes Week. In 2016, 15 teams contested the inaugural season with teams from England, Germany, Ireland, Scotland and South Africa. The fleet is expected to increase in 2017 with at least two new FAST40+ yachts in build. In addition to the class racing, the boats can also race competitively under IRC and will be available to race in other events like the Rolex Fastnet Race, Little Britain Challenge Cup, Dartmouth Regatta and Taittinger Regatta. If you can think of a race and a FAST40+ is available, we can make it happen. Lucy who founded PYC has been appointed by the FAST40+ Class Associaition to manage the charter opportunities for this exciting new class. Lucy has extensive experience in delivery high quality and well managed race charters. Performance Yacht Charter has for many years been successfully running performance yachts in the UK, Caribbean and Mediterranean. The owners of the FAST40+ s believe that by allowing their boats to charter it will hopefully ensure the long term success of the class and encourage new teams to join the class. Lucy has been successfully running race charters for many years. She has a reputation for attention to detail and comes highly recommended. The FAST40+ management team will continue to concentrate on delivering professional race management, whilst Lucy has all the skills to manage the charter opportunities. 5 42 SOUTH GP42 42 SOUTH IS AN EXHILARATING YACHT TO SAIL She has fully modernised systems and electronics and in 2017 had a new ultra high modules Hall Spars rig. Giving her a consequential increase in righting momentum and improving the ability to tune 42 South in all conditions.

6 MAGNUM KER 40+ NEW IN 2016 This boat is in immaculate condition with a North inshore and offshore sail wardrobe, a GP high modulus Southern Spars rig, Sailmon and B&G instrumentation.

7 HOOLIGAN KER 40 Maintained to the highest of standards with a full inventory of sails it has been consistently upgraded to ensure it can race at the front of the fleet inshore and offshore.

8 SIGNAL 8 KER 40 Signal 8 has been racing in Hong Kong and is new to the Solent for She has not only been upgraded to fit into the FAST40+ box rule but also to provide a perfectly balanced fast ride for anyone who has the pleasure of sailing her.

9 VULCAN GP42 A South African GP42 that has recently competed in the Cape Town to Rio Race and is being shipped to the UK for the summer.
