Woodward called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. The February meeting minutes were approved. Woodward, Rowe The February financial report was approved. Radabaugh/Greenwood Property Manager s Report: P. Adams Club Boats: The Zodiac tube set is back from repair in Texas, ready to be re-installed. Thanks again to Tom Olsen for his help with shipping and receiving, and Jaime Kissinger for finding the repair facility. If successful, the firm, Triad Marine, could not have been easier to work with. The representative says our tube's adhesive simply timed out, which is normal, and the failure probably was not the result of any mistreatment. The boat is an outstanding vessel for sailing instruction, and it will be good to have it commissioned and back in our fleet. Afterdeck: Securenet, our security monitor, upgraded the remaining cell phone communicator. There is no longer a hard line phone in the Afterdeck. You will need to respond with your own cell phone if you have caused From the Commodore Spring is here, it has been raining. We have water in our wonderful lake. I am so excited to see everything that our Board is planning for this year for Spring and Summer. Do you have your launch date planned? It is great seeing many of you working on their boats. 2 the alarm to go off falsely. Instructions have been posted for procedures to cancel false alarms, members should familiarize themselves. The Johnsons have donated a water filter for a faucet in the kitchen. Thanks to Allen and Thumper. We have cleaned out the basement, removing clutter and trip hazards in preparation for inspections by the Park officials and the BOR. A new light fixture was installed. We found a new Internet provider for the facility. KanOkla. Has a closer antenna, better service terms, not much more money, and the speed may improve with time. Can now proceed with upgrading our distribution hardware. Will still be very slow compared to urban connections, but our goal is to get every member some access. Lowell Holmes's family has donated his sailing library to the club. Gregg and I picked up the books and a couple of bookcases, Cooper Pierce and Michael Leonard hauled the books upstairs to the West Loft, where we hope additional wooden bookcases can be located for this valuable library. Ideally, the cases would be of light-colored wood and sturdy construction, and all match. Perhaps a store will go out of business and have what we need. The board voted to name the library The Lowell Holmes Library in view of this large donation of sailing books. We would like to dedicate The Lowell Holmes Library at the Blessing of the Fleet. Still looking for a 3'x5' glass front display case for the Ted Wells Championship sail. Boat Yards: Cleaned out the sheds and surrounding area in preparation for our inspections. Thanks to Doug Veith for his help hauling items to a sale in Cheney. Unseasonably mild weather will increase activity at the facility: Members are reminded to keep gates and doors locked when not in use: Afterdeck, yards, sheds, and slips. If you see folks in a closed area who is not familiar, take the opportunity to introduce yourself. As we launch boats back into the slips, remember that shore power cords must be certified for wet locations and run under the docks. Keep boats and dock boxes back so that folks can walk down the center walkways. Ask before mounting additional cleats or other hardware on the docks. The best place for water hoses is in dock boxes. Plumbing on the docks will be commissioned after freeze concerns are over, perhaps in a few weeks. Landscaping: The Park staff have installed our new Lift Station and removed the antique one behind the Bathhouse. This is an impressive project that involved burying a couple miles of new sewer line, and removing a lagoon. While they had heavy equipment on site, they removed most of our dead trees, (killed during the drought), and dug out some stumps. This is very valuable work which we could never have afforded ourselves. It has reduced many hazards and will enable us to move forward with replacing trees and landscaping. Yardmaster Dale Gronniger organized a crew on short notice Feb 27. A Boy Scout troop showed up and helped rake up. Thanks to all those who came out and helped: Gary Feist,

3 Dan Wilson, John Vredenburg, Yasmine Batrouny, Dale Gronniger. A great deal remains to be done, and anyone with some time and energy is invited to come out and lend a hand at any time. Check with me and I will show where we need the help most. We have a great deal of work to do, and no budget, so we need all the help we can get. It is a terrific opportunity to improve our facility. Orientation classes: Saturday, Easter Weekend, March 26. Crane at 11:00am, Committee Boat at noon, Afterdeck at 1pm. $15.00 deposit for crane key. Come out and get familiarized with these wonderful club assets. Lake Level this afternoon is Administrative Secretary Report: A. Johnson The first half delinquent members have been identified. Board Members Reports: Secretary: B. Rowe-nothing to report Treasurer: S. Whiston-Fox We are required to send a copy of our annual report to the KDWPT Cheney State Park Manager each year. This has been completed. Yardmaster: D. Gronniger Thanks to Patrick and to various members who have been helping clean up our area after all the plumbing work by the state. Harbormaster: D. Veith Don t forget the slip exchange this Saturday. Also, one of the requirements from the Board of Reclamation is to keep bow pulpits from opposing boats in the slips from impeding foot traffic. Please keep your boats back far enough to remedy this. All power cords must be approved for wet conditions and routed under the slip walkways. Operations: C. Zachary Mardi Gras Party went off well. Full capacity of 48 patrons sold. If Thumper is willing to do next year we will keep on the calendar as a possibility. A thank you to all those who have promptly submitted reports for Mainsheet in timely manner. Sheryl Born would like to focus only on website, and no longer do mainsheet, calendar, and brochure. Need to find someone to produce mainsheet. Send out RCH to ask for a volunteer? Considerable discussion about this major disruption in our communication ability. Sheryl has done such a great job that it will be hard to find someone to fill her shoes. G. Greenwood and D. Gronniger will work on the Afterdeck brochure. If a volunteer from

4 NSA does not step forward to do the Mainsheet, do we need to hire an outfit or individual to produce the Mainsheet? It would be nice if whomever is decided on would attend the BOG meetings so they have a modicum of knowledge of what is going on prior to collating all the reports and producing the document. Have all social dates set with volunteers except for Progressive Dinner. Looking for July 30. Ordering burgees next week, and planning on ordering tumblers, floating keychains, and some t-shirts. Maybe have burgees to commemorate regatta events and placings? Our RCH volunteer wants all messages received to be ready for transmission without editing-a forward ready would be ideal. Vice Commodore: C. Radabaugh Adult Learn to sail committee has met a couple of times. o We are working through the curriculum for the Keel Boat class o Dates have been set o Classroom sessions will be held at Pathway church o We are about ready to order class room materials Junior Sailing o Brochures are in the proofreading stage and about ready to be printed KBRS Sailing o Kickoff meeting will be April 3 rd o The club has been meeting every Wednesday evening during the off season for some laughs. We alternate between the East side and West side locations Club Boats o Zodiac is back and repaired. Electrical plans done for the Ramp area. Will now Bid the project when funds are available. Concrete sidewalks, sodding and landscaping will happen after electrical is done. Some topsoil will be delivered soon. All of our action items are completed. Education of Members with boats in slips will need to continue on keeping walkways and slip fingers clear of trip hazards including hoses and electrical cords. Keeping boats properly placed in slips so that bow pulpits do not block walkways. Thanks to Patrick and all those who helped with the inspection compliance work. New business: A. 8 Ninnescah Sailing Association Presents: Whitecap Regatta Saturday, July 16, & Sunday, July 17, 2016 Event CSSA sanctioned, open regatta. Two days, five races scheduled, one race makes a regatta. Fleets All classes of sailboats welcome. Four or more one-designs make a fleet. All others will sail to Portsmouth handicap. Location Ninnescah Sailing Association (NSA), Cheney Reservoir, 30 miles west of Wichita, KS. Directions from Wichita: Drive west 25 miles on highway US 54, turn north (right) on highway 251 and drive 3.4 miles to 21 st St. Turn west (left) on 21 st St. and drive 3.4 miles to Cheney State Park entrance, turn north (right) and follow the regatta signs to the NSA at Sailboat Cove (west shore).
