2 Good Sheng Chi Energy It is important to understand the nature of the Dragon s cosmic breath - what is termed Sheng Chi. Sheng Chi is described as the intrinsic energy which brings good fortune. Everyone needs to capture this auspicious energy which is present in our environments when the elements are in balance and when yin and yang are in harmony. 1) Sheng Chi is present in abundance wherever the Green Dragon resides. 2) Sheng Chi is created and can accumulate in abundance in places where breezes blow and where the energy is vibrant, healthy and alive. 3) Sheng Chi scatters and dissipates when the wind blows too fast. It settles and expands only where winds are gentle. 4) Sheng Chi evaporates when caught in a raging river but halts when the flow of water is slow and meandering. 5) Sheng Chi transforms into killing energy when forced to move too fast or in a straight line, and is then termed Shar Chi. The correct flow of Sheng Chi brings immense good fortune and wherever it has a chance to amass and collect, the abundance is greatly magnified. The flow of chi in the natural landscape is affected by the shape and orientation of mountains, hills and rivers. Manmade structures also affect the flow of chi. When the structure that is built blends in with its natural surroundings, the flow of good Sheng Chi can even get enhanced, but when discordant notes are created, the Sheng Chi becomes killing or Shar Chi. The Cardinal Rule: Never introduce sharp, angular or gigantic structures that cut into Dragon hills, and never create massive, solid erosions that affect drainage and water flows. Good flow of chi must: 1) Be allowed to slow down, meander, revolve and accumulate. 2) Move and circulate. 3) Not be become stale by stagnating. 4) Not move too fast so that it is forced to scatter and disperse. TAKE NOTE: Chi also enters and leaves the home through windows, so take note of the placement of windows relative to doors. The principles of chi flow can be applied to the roads around you and to the way you orientate your home. 1) The road facing this house A appears to cut the house. Chi is moving too fast. It is hostile and most inauspicious. 2) As the chi flows down to the front of this house B it has turned benign. Having slowed down, it gently embraces the house. This type of road is thus auspicious. The following are guidelines to assist you in manipulating the chi of your surroundings: 1) Do not live at the dead end of a road. Here, chi stagnates and you will have problems; there will be no way out. 2) Do not live sandwiched between two buildings which dwarf your home. The buildings block any benevolent chi from flowing into your home. 3) Do not live with your main door directly facing a straight road. The chi flowing towards you will be too powerful. 4) Do not have your main door or the front of your house face higher ground. This blocks off the chi. 5) Do not live in a home that has a fast moving highway or a river at the back. This chi is too powerful and there will be nothing guarding your back. 6) Do not live too near to road flyovers which seem to cut into your home or the building that houses your apartment.
