1 QUICK OPENING CLOSURES To reliably seal filter and strainer shell openings and provide quick opening to access internals. Our SEG4LOCK quick opening closures are non-threaded pressure sealed type closures confirming to ASME Sec.VIII Div. I. These closures offer greater security, safety & quicker operation as compared to bolted covers or threaded closures. Our entire range of closures sizes / pressure ratings have been analyzed by finite element methods using ANSYS softurare. Design code : ASME Sec. LTD TYPE PRESSU RATING SIZES SEG4Lt]CK ANS 300 /600 t900 6'' NB T() 40" NB The SEG4LOCK quick opening closure provides fast and easy access to horizontal and vertical pressure vessels like filter separators, pig Launchers / Traps, Standard, autoclaves etc. One oerson with standard wrenches can open and close the largest SEG4LOCK closure the SEG4LOCK closure derives its name from a 4 piece segmented ring fitted in a groove between the door and the closure neck to transmit loads uniformly to the full 360' circumference of the neck. The design is inherently safe since the door cannot be physically opened unless and until the vessel's internal pressure has been fully relieved. The reason for this is that the internal pressure acting on the door provides the sealing pressure of the trapezoidal gasket on the segment ring. This force goes on improving with increasing internal pressure. Our experience is that an internal pressure as low 0.5 bar can provide enough sealing force for a gas tight connection. At this pressure the force acting below the segmented ring is so large that it is physically impossible to force out the segment ring from groove through the 10.0 mm dia knock out holes. The holding cover provides an additional protection by way of a safety overlap against the inner bore of the segment ring to ensure that the segment ring cannot be removed unless the holding cover is first removed. The holding cover is provided with a locking arrangement which can be unlocked only by authorised personnel. The trapezoidal sealing gasket has a large sealing surface and is located in an enclosure between the closure neck, the door and the segment ring which is designed to prevent extrusion or blow - out. The trapezoidal gasket of Neoprene/ Viton is manufactured to close tolerances / hardness range in custom made dies to prevent duplication. The closure neck at the welding end is extra long to ensure that heat inputs during welding do not distorthe sealing faces ofthe closure" The SEG4LOCK closure is inherently safe and satisfies all ASME code requirements o Opening of closure not possible unless vessel is completely depressurised. o Safety overlap on holding cover ensures segment ring cannot be removed till holding disassembled.. Holding cover can be locked to prevent unauthorised access. Anti-extrusion design oftrapezoidal sealingasket c Sealingasket cannot be easily duplicated. Large length of welding neck prevents distortion of sealing faces due to welding heat inputs.. Complete forged construction for high reliability.

4 DESIGN FABRICA]]ON FEAruRES SEG4LOCK - Closure are manufactured from ASTM - A or A350 or LF2 ring rolled forgings which are ultrasonically checked to ensure high reliability. For special applications SEG4LOCK closures can be manufactured in alloy in standard ANSI series pressure rating or can be designed to exact operating requirements under ASME Vlll Div / Appendix 24, Div 2, SEG4LOCK closure can be analysed using finite element method with non-linear analysis where required by customers. Close tolerances ensure that extrusion or blow - out is not possible, The seal is a single piece moulding in Neoprene rubber with controlled Shore - D hardness which makes it very difficult to duplicate. Seal material has shore D hardness 78 to 85" & operating temperature range (- ) 50 to "C.
