3 4 DJUSTING HND POSITION l efore etting the time, be ure to check that the hand are in 0 poition when the chronograph i reet. (For reetting the chronograph, ee "" on page 6) * If any of the hand do not return to "0" poition, follow the procedure below to reet the hand. Pull out to econd click. Pre repeatedly to reet 1/10- econd hand to "0" poition. Pre repeatedly to reet econd and minute hand to "0" poition. Puh back in to normal poition. TIME/CLENDR SETTING Pull out to firt click, and turn clockwie until the previou day date appear. 2 Pull out to econd click when Second hand i at the 12 o clock poition. 3 Turn clockwie until the deired date appear. 4 Turn to et Hour and Minute hand. 5 Puh back in to normal poition in accordance with a time ignal

TCHYMETER [for model with tachymeter cale on the dial] To meaure the hourly average peed of a vehicle Ex. 1 Tachymeter cale: 90 econd hand: 40 econd 90 (tachymeter cale figure) x 1 (km or mile) = 90 km/h or mph 1 Ue the chronograph to determine how many econd it take to go 1 km or 1 mile. 2 Locate the econd marker on the main dial that correpond to the meaured econd, and the tachymeter cale it indicate give the average peed per hour. Tachymeter cale can be ued only when the time required i le than 60 econd. Ex. 2: If the meauring ditance i extended to 2 km or mile or hortened to 0.5 km or mile and econd hand indicate 90 on 7

5 8 tachymeter cale: 90 (tachymeter cale figure) x 2 (km or mile) = 180 km/h or mph 90 (tachymeter cale figure) x 0.5 (km or mile) = 45 km/h or mph To meaure the hourly rate of operation Ex. 1 1 Ue the chronograph to meaure the time required to complete 1 job. Tachymeter cale : 180 econd hand: 20 econd 180 (tachymeter cale figure) x 1 job = 180 job/hour Ex. 2: If 15 job are completed in 20 econd: 2 Locate the econd marker on the main dial that correpond to the meaured econd, and the tachymeter cale it indicate give the average number of job accomplihed per hour. 180 (tachymeter cale figure) x 15 job = 2700 job/hour NOTES ON OPERTING THE WTCH DJUSTING HND POSITION l The "0" poition of the 1/10-econd hand differ depending on the model. * Some model have the 0 poition of the 1/10-econd hand at 3 and 9 o clock ide of the mall dial. In that cae, check if the hand i level with it both end pointing to thoe 0 poition. l The minute hand move correpondingly with the econd hand. l The hand move quickly if the repective button are kept preed. TIME/CLENDR SETTING l Do not et the date between 9:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. Otherwie, the date may not change properly. l When etting the hour hand, be ure to check that M/PM i correctly et. The watch i o deigned that the date change once in 24 hour. * Turn the hand pat the 12 o clock marker to determine whether the watch i et for the.m. or P.M. period. If the date change, the time i et for the.m. period. If not, the time i et for the P.M. period. l When etting the minute hand, firt advance it 4 to 5 minute ahead of the deired time and then turn it back to the exact minute. 9

To reet them to 0 poition, ee DJUSTING HND POSITION on page 4. l While the chronograph i counting, do not pull out the crown to et the time. Otherwie,the chronograph operation cannot be made. l The 1/10-econd cale and hand differ in deign and hape depending on the model. * Some model have the 1/10-econd cale graduated on the upper half of the mall dial and the hand which i o deigned that both end can indicate the elaped 1/10 econd. In that cae, read the marker on the cale where either end of the hand point to. 2 Year TTERY CHNGE attery life : pprox. 2 year attery : SEIKO SR920SW l If the chronograph i ued for more than 60 minute a day, the battery life may be le than the pecified period. l the battery i inerted at the factory to check the function and performance of the watch, it actual life once in your poeion may be le than the pecified period. l When the battery expire, be ure to replace it a oon a poible to prevent any malfunction. l We recommend that you contact an UTHORIZED PULSR DELER for battery replacement

7 12 l Neceary procedure after battery change fter the battery i replaced with a new one, or in cae any of the hand hould move improperly, follow the procedure below to reet the hand to the 0 poition. * The econd hand turn half a circle counterclock -wie and then return where it wa. The 1/10-econd hand turn a full circle clockwie and top. ** The hand move quickly if the repective button are kept preed. and Pull out to econd click. Pre and hold at the ame time for 2 econd.* Pre repeatedly to reet 1 / 1 0-econd hand to 0 poition.** Pre repeatedly to reet econd and minute hand to 0 poition.** Turn to et the time. Puh back in to normal poition. WRNING l Do not remove the battery from the watch. l If it i neceary to take out the battery, keep it out of the reach of children. If a child wallow it, conult a doctor immediately. l Never hort-circuit, tamper with or heat the battery, and never expoe it to fire. The battery may burt, become very hot or catch fire. If the watch become wet, we ugget that you have it checked by an UTHORIZED PULSR DELER or SERVICE CENTER. l Water reitance (3 bar) If WTER RESISTNT i incribed on the cae back, your watch i deigned and manufactured to withtand up to 3 bar, uch a acci- dental contact with plahe of water or rain, but it i not deigned for wimming or diving. l Water reitance (5 bar)* If WTER RESISTNT 5 R i incribed on the cae back, your watch i deigned and manu-factured to withtand up to 5 bar and i uitable for wimming, yachting and taking a hower. l Water reitance (10 bar/15 bar/20 bar)* If WTER RESISTNT 10 R, WTER RESISTNT 15 R or WTER RESISTNT 20 R i incribed on the cae back, your watch i deigned and manufactured to withtand up to 10 bar/15 bar/20 bar and i uitable for taking a bath, hallow diving, but not for cuba diving. We recommend that you wear a PULSR Diver watch for cuba diving. * efore uing the water reitance 5, 10, 15 or 20 bar watch in water, be ure the crown i puhed in completely. Do not operate the crown when the watch i wet or in water. If ued in ea water, rine the watch in freh water and dry it completely. * When taking a hower with the water reitance 5 bar watch, or taking a bath with the water reitance 10, 15 or 20 bar watch, be ure to oberve the following: Do not operate the crown when the watch i wet. If the watch i left in warm water, a light time lo or gain may be caued. Thi condition, however, will be corrected when the watch return to normal temperature. PERIODIC CHECK It i recommended that the watch be checked once every 2 to 3 year. Have your watch checked by an UTHORIZED PULSR DELER or SER VICE CENTER to enure that the cae, crown, button, gaket and crytal eal remain intact. PRECUTION REGRDING CSE CK PROTECTIVE FILM If your watch ha a protective film and/or a ticker on the cae back, be ure to peel them off before uing your watch.
