2 DEEP WELL HAND PUMP AFRIDEV I N T R O D U C T I O N Ajay is an industrial organisation of 50 years standing specialising in products connected with Water Management Our product range includes PVC Pipes, Fittings, PVC Tubewell Casings & Screens, PVC Reinforced Layflat Hoses, Suction Hoses, Deepwell Hand pumps based on concepts of India Mark II. Mark III and Direct Action, Treadle Pumps, Play Pumps, Sea Jar Pumps & Solar Pumps. We are regularly associated with various international agencies in the development of Deepwell Handpumps. All our product are being manufactured under close supervision of highly trained technical staff. Strict quality control is exercised and our products enjoy excellent reputation for quality with internationally renowned inspecting agencies. Within our organisation we have our own Research & Development Wing which is actively involved in constantly improving our products quality and also in the development of new products. S A L I E N T F E AT U R E S Ideal VLOM (Village Level Operation and maintenance) design developed keeping in view maintenance problems. Capable of lifting water from depths upto-approx 45 Metres. Fully fabricated steel structure duly hot dip galvanised. Adjustable handle to suit varying installation depths. Injection moulded special grade plastic bush bearings easy to replace at village level. Interchangeable plunger & foot vales easy to extract without removing riser pipe. Non-corrosive underground components capable of handling corrosive water situation there by giving longer life. Easy installation and inexpensive maintenance at village level - even women can handle. Light weight UPVC riser pipes and hence easy to handle.

3 P U M P H E A D A S S E M B LY Fully fabricated steel structure duly hot dip galvanised. Adjustable handle providing different handle settings to suit different Cylinder setting depths. Conical flange with conical rubber grommet provides better holding grip on UPVC riser pipe. Two options for pedestal design are available : a) b) Square Flange Pedestal Pedestal with 3 legs Fulcrum & rod hanger are supported on special grade plastic bush bearing which are very easy to replace at village level. Fully covered to avoid any contamination of water. Design offer a stroke length of 225 mm. C O N S T R U C T I O N The complete system of AJAY AFRIDEV Deepwell Handpump consists of four main sub assemblies briefly described below : P U M P R O D / C O N N E C T I N G R O D Three type of pipes rod available Eye and Hook Connectors Type : This we can provide in S. S 304 (recounaded as skat) or hot dip galvanised mild steel rod 10mm dia rod size x 3 meter this type provides easy rod connections without use of any tool M12 threaded with one side male thread and other side m12 female coupling m12 x 50mm. This also has tow variant one mild steel electroplated other S.S 304 rod dia also in this case 10.8mm or 12mm as required. In 10.8mm rod rolled threads are formed which has more strength, (3mts.) Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) with brass connectors. 3 and 6 meter as required Each rod is provide with a rubber centralizer to avoid contact with UPVC Rise Pipe

4 C Y L I N D E R A S S E M B LY UPVC pipe 63 OD x 4.7 mm thick lined from inside with seamless brass liner 50 mm I.D. x 700 mm long. Plunger valve available in brass or plastic as required. Foot valve available in three options 1) Plastic foot valve with stainless steel pick up device 2) Plastic foot valve with fishing connector (used with brass plunger) 3) Brass foot valve ( use with brass plunger) Langer dia extension pipe (suction) at the bottom of cylinder reduce silt and sand intake R I S E R P I P E ( D R O P P I P E ) Connects Cylinder to pump head and is a passage for water UPVC pipe 63 mm OD x 4.7 mm wall x 3 Metres long with socket -spigot cemented joint. Each pipe is provided with a rubber centraliser to avoid contact with casing pipe.
