1 BASIC HEALTH AND SAFETY MEASURES TO BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION FOR STAND CONSTRUCTION AT MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS 2017
2 IMPORTANT! DURING BUILD-UP AND DISMANTLING ACCESS TO THE VENUE WILL ONLY BE GRANTED WITH HARD HAT AND HIGH VISIBILITY VEST AT ANY ENTRY POINT. Hard hats need to comply with standard UNE-EN-397 YOU WILL BE REFUSED ENTRY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR HARD HAT AND HIGH VISIBILITY VEST WITH YOU* *Selling points will be available at Fira Gran Via from in the south entrance throughout build-up and north entrance from 20 February, but it is recommended that contractors bring their own equipment where possible. Selling point open times are from 08:00 18:00 Last day of build-up (Sunday 26 February) the use of hard hats and high visibility vests is not compulsory, but still recommended Reflective vest, class 3, in accordance with UNE 471: at all times.
3 Safety helmet and reflective vest (as well as safety boots and gloves) when loading and unloading lorries and other vehicles in the loading bays Safety boots in any other location in the venue when handling loads Gloves when handling loads OTHER COMPULSORY PPE (When the activity requires it) Safety spectacles for activities involving cutting or that otherwise pose an impact hazard of flying particles or fragments Safety harness in any task performed above a height of 2 metres which entails a risk of falling Any other protective equipment stipulated in the activity's risk assessment. Exhibitors and contractors are required to carry with them and use any additional such personal protective equipment as required by the activity undertaken
4 GENERAL HEALTH AND SAFETY RULES A Health and Safety representative must be present throughout build-up and dismantling. This person should be easy to locate and be less than one hour away from the stand when his/her presence is required. Mounting waste skips to adjust waste materials or for any other reason is strictly prohibited. Materials should not stick out beyond the top of waste skips. It is the responsibility of each contractor, operator and driver to have sufficient and necessary training in the use of any machinery or vehicle hired or used during build-up and dismantling. The presence of flammable chemical products or gases (such as butane) within the venue halls or in any other enclosed location is strictly prohibited. Cooking within the venue halls or in any other enclosed spaces is prohibited.
5 The use of portable ladders of a height of more than five metres is prohibited. Any ladder of this kind will be removed. Repeated noncompliance with this measure will involve stopping of construction activity for a period of time as a penalty. In all cases, auxiliary equipment should be suitable for the work to be undertaken and should include ladders under five metres in height (ladders under three metres are recommended), full scaffolding, personal lifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts.

9 PREVENTIVE MEASURES: IN OUTDOOR AREAS THE SPEED LIMIT IS 10KM/H 10 4 INSIDE THE HALLS THE SPEED LIMIT IS 4 KM/H
10 REMEMBER THAT ALL PROTECTIVE MEASURES OF MACHINERY MUST BE FITTED AND OPERATIONAL Any machinery or equipment used must be in good condition, with dangerous parts effectively guarded ü YES
11 WORKBENCHES AND MANUAL SAWS FOR THE CUTTING OR SANDING OF WOOD All workbenches and manual saws for the cutting or sanding of wood must be equipped with the relevant bag and suction system for the sawdust and shavings produced. Protective devices must be used in the cutting areas and for mobile elements. WORK MACHINERY Work equipment must bear the CE mark and be in a perfect state of use. VEHICLES The use of vehicles such as bicycles, scooters, skates, segways or other similar vehicles is prohibited inside the halls during build-up and dismantling. (Dismantling begins on Thursday 2 nd of March 16:00h).
12 REMEMBER! HARD HATS & HIGH VISIBILITY VEST ARE COMPULSORY Protective caps don't comply with EN-397 standard.
13 REMEMBER! SAFETY BOOTS OR SAFETY SHOES MUST BE WORN WHEN THERE IS A RISK OF IMPACT, COMPRESSION OR PUNCTURE Safety footwear is designed to protect feet against a wide variety of injuries. Impact, compression, and puncture are the most common types of foot injury. Use metatarsal protection (top of the foot between the toes and ankle) where there is a potential for injury
