21 THURSDAY: GUIDED WALK:THE ORIGINS OF THE DOLOMIT ES Cadini di Misurina. The hike starts and ends at Lake Antorno at the foot of Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the Three Peaks. Route: Forcella Rimbianco Rifugio Fonda Savio Pian dei Spiriti Lago Antorno. After a drive through the Landro- Höhlensteintal valley to Misurina, we continue to the scenic Lake Antorno. From there, we climb through the Rimbianco valley all the way to the Rimbianco col or saddle. After about two hours, we stop for lunch at the Fonda Savio inn, framed by a backdrop of rugged ridges and steep rock walls. Our descent takes us past Pian dei Spiriti, the Spirits' Plains, and back to Lake Antorno. Total hiking time: 4 h (550 m of difference in altitude).
