Below are full details of the excursions available for registered partners. The Dragon s Back Hike on Thursday 17 May is intended also for delegates. Places on all tours are limited so we suggest you book early. We strongly recommend you wear comfortable shoes as some walking is involved and for the hike you will most definitely need suitable hiking shoes. Dress code: casual.

2 MONDAY 14 MAY - VICTORIA PEAK & STANLEY MARKET Meet in lobby of Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel at Return to Kowloon Shangri-La at Cost: EUR 90 per person A journey to Hong Kong is not complete without experiencing the panoramic bird s eye view from Victoria Peak. We offer you a chance to ride on a century old Peak Tram to reach the Peak, it is the first cable funicular in Asia providing a direct route to the Peak which is one of Hong Kong's top tourist attractions. Take a stroll of approximately 3kms around Victoria Peak on a pathway lined with lush green plants and see through the trees the stunning views of the city skyline, the worldfamous Victoria Harbour, Kowloon, towering skyscrapers, and gain a sense of Hong Kong's rich colonial heritage. Afterwards, take a scenic coach ride to Hong Kong Island s southern shore to Repulse Bay. Enjoy lunch in a local village restaurant and shopping in the nearby Stanley Market, a perfect place to pick up some local gifts, before returning to the Hotel.

3 TUESDAY 15 MAY - PO LIN MONASTERY & TAI O VILLAGE Meet in lobby of Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel at Return to Kowloon Shangri-La at Cost: EUR 100 per person Depart from your residing hotel for a visit to the largest outlying island of Hong Kong - Lantau. The excursion will bring you from the bustling downtown to greenery, cultural, religious place of Hong Kong. A brief stop will be made on the longest beach in Hong Kong - Cheung Sha beach, it stretches around 2 km from east to west. Its sugary and fine sandy is the swimming paradise. Coach along the winding coastline to Tai O, an authentic fishing village where is famed for its generations of fishermen who built their houses on stilts. It is also known as the Venice of Hong Kong. The houses are interconnected, forming a tightly knit community that lives on the water. Their enchanting world is a photographer's paradise. Lunch will be served in a local village restaurant. Conclude your tour with the visit of the themed village high atop a mountain plateau on Lantau Island. It's here at the Ngong Ping Village that you can see the Giant Buddha the world's tallest outdoor seated bronze statue before returning to the residing hotel.

4 Wednesday 16 May - Jade Market & Sai Kung with Seafood Lunch Meet in lobby of Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel at 09:15 Return to Kowloon Shangri-La at 15:30 Cost: EUR 85 per person Visit the Jade Market - jade is said to have great spiritual value and, when carved into certain figures, it represents wealth, good fortune and power. Strolling through the colourful displays is fun, and besides jade, you will find pearls of all colours and sizes, as well as other stones like agate, tiger-eye, malachite, coral, mother of pearl, turquoise, etc After the Jade Market, our tour will continue to the Sai Kung peninsula, NE of the New Territories. Take a sampan boat to visit the Sharp Island Tombolo, which is about 250 meters long and offers the experience of volcanic lava flows and is a popular place for a seaside stroll. If the tide is lower than 1.4 metres, you can walk across the Tombolo, from the main island across the natural sand levee to the other side of the Kiu Tau. Those who do not wish to take the boat to the Tombolo, can enjoy a leisurely stroll along Sai Kung waterfront and its lively street market. Savour the gastronomic delights of a fresh seafood lunch before heading back to the hotel.

5 THURSDAY 17 MAY - DRAGON S BACK HIKE Meet in lobby of Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel at 08:45 Return to Kowloon Shangri-La at 15:30 Cost: EUR 90 per person IMPORTANT INFORMATION Hike time: trail walking for approx. 2 hours Walking distance: 5.5 km (up & down hill) Remark: Moderate level (the hike begins at a height of 102m and ascends to a total of 270m) Clothing: Hiking shoes/boots; comfortable walking clothes; swimwear; waterproof jacket For registered delegates and partners Start your hike uphill along the well-trodden path from Cape Collinson Road to To Tei Wan. A cool path takes you through shady groves of bamboo and lush woodlands accompanied by birdsong, eventually, emerging into open hillsides covered with wild azaleas and rose myrtle. Upon reaching the spectacular Shek O Country Park, you will follow the rugged undulating spinal ridge of the Dragon s Back. The walk is filled with breath- taking views of the dazzling seas, the distant Nine Pins Islands, sandy Big Wave Bay, Tai Tam Harbour, and both the Stanley and Red Hill peninsulas. The walk concludes with a stroll down through shaded tunnels of exotic flora. We ll catch our coach from To Tei Wan to a beautiful sandy beach at Shek O. There will be time for a quick swim in the sea before you enjoy a delicious lunch at a favourite Thai seafood restaurant. After which the coach will bring you back to Hong Kong city. This hike is not recommended for persons with back problems, pregnant women, heart complaints or other serious medical conditions. Due to uneven surfaces, this tour is not recommended for those with walking disabilities or persons requiring a wheelchair.
