1 HealthierUS School Challenge Today s children face a multitude of eating choices many which are tempting, but not so healthy. In the USDA HealthierUS School Challenge, school cafeterias are striving to provide healthier choices and introduce students to a wide variety of delicious foods that are tasty, attractive, and nutritious. Alabama leads the way in schools that are certified as HealthierUS Schools with 54 schools attaining levels of certification for either Bronze, Silver, Gold, and the highest mark of all, Gold of Distinction.
