3 SAFETY AND INNOVATION SAFETY IS EVERYTHING Ever wonder why acrobats use nets under their trapeze rather than foam pads? We do - they want to keep their craniums intact! FlowRider, Inc. s patented ride surface technology is the cornerstone of our success as it puts our customers patron s safety first. No foam on the planet can catch you like a tensioned fabric or our inflatable structure. We actually conducted G Force testing with an accelerometer attached to a head form and dropped it onto 1 inch foam over a hard substrate, which competitors use for their ride surfaces. Then we did the same on our ride surfaces. The result: a fall from 1 foot on the 1 inch of foam yielded the same result as a fall from 6 feet onto the tensioned and inflatable surfaces of the FlowRider and WaveOz products, evidencing the huge discrepancy in favor of the our surfaces. Here s another way to look at it, picture yourself falling from a building, where would you like to land? Option 1 a trampoline that absorbs the energy of impacts; Option 2 an inch of foam over concrete. Easy choice, right!? NOZZLE FLAPS With recent improvements to the design and manufacturing process, our nozzle flaps are more durable and better looking than ever. Our nozzle flap is operated by a patented system that immediately closes when the ride turns off. If the ride is shut down while someone is riding, the rider simply glides up over the top. While it may seem like a simple concept, this proprietary system allows for better viewing by guests and most importantly enhances rider safety by eliminating the risk of a rider coming in contact with the nozzle itself. TWO-GUEST RIDE DIVIDER Gone are the days of cables and wires that can pin or trap you. The patented FlowRider Flow Fence divider is a soft air-cushioned fence that allows you to safely employ two riders at a time on the FlowRider Double and WaveOz. If a guest runs into the floating divider while riding, it simply absorbs the motion and gently moves out of the way allowing riders to ease back into the main riding area. This new technology is easy to install, extremely safe, and is preferred by riders globally. PERFORMANCE AND DURABILITY PUMP DESIGN PILLOW PADDING The front and rear recovery areas of the FlowRider have been fitted with a new system known as Pillow Padding. With our proprietary process, we have designed the next generation in soft, durable landings. Every landing is wellpadded all around, so wipeouts become part of the fun! It s extremely durable and virtually maintenance free. All competing surf machines use a hollow-tube vinyl mat that is installed over hard fiberglass grating. If the mat fails it is very difficult to repair and, in many cases, it needs to be replaced entirely! If a Pillow Padding bar fails it can be easily replaced with minimal downtime. FlowRider is the only ride of its kind to employ this technology! The FlowRider pumps are among the best available on the market. They are designed to be put in place and then left alone, with only minimal maintenance. We have many rides that have been in service for decades, such as the original ride at Schlitterbahn in Texas that is still using the original pumps - 25 years later! The many years we spent working closely with our suppliers on the redesign of the pumps and pump tube paid off! Our clients can now easily perform annual maintenance without having to remove the pumps. PERIMETER PADDING SYSTEM The FlowRider s perimeter padding system is a marvel of durability and safety. All of our rides are upholstered, just like that chair you re sitting on. Our new proprietary padding system is not only safe, but is much easier to maintain. Plus it looks great! SHALLOW TANK FlowRider, Inc. recently modified the pump tube intake design on our rides which allows us to make the water tank much shallower.
