DESCRIPTION: The collection consists of vertical and oblique aerial photographs of beach and coastal areas in California, Florida, Hawaii, Mexico, Bahamas, Bimini, Japan, Vietnam, and Guam. Most of the photographs were taken by U.S. Navy aircraft during the period and are black and white images, but some photographs were taken by other groups and the collection includes a few color negatives and photographs of coastal areas in San Diego County. Most of the images in this collection document coastal areas in California, particularly those areas in and around San Diego. The collection also includes indexes and keys to aerial photographs.
