The bay features a large reef, which is home to many species of fish. You ll snorkel among the tropical fish in the blue waters of the Sea of Cortez. The adventurous can swim from the boat to the beach in search of treasures buried in the sand. On the return voyage, an assortment of finger foods and drinks will be served. Anchor at a palm studded tropical cove where the reefs are teeming with colorful tropical fish and you ll have approximately 1 1/4 hours to snorkel in the tranquil waters alongside the boat. You ll then head over to Santa Maria Cove for your second snorkel. The transparent waters at both coves team with colorful fish including Moorish idols, puffers and Cortez angelfish. 2/19

4 Upon arriving at a recreational and nature center, you will stretch your legs with a brief tour of the aviary. Hundreds of bird species are commonly found around Cabo, many of them endemic such as the iridescent Xanthus s hummingbird and yellow footed gull. Next, after receiving your safety briefing and signing your waiver, you will zip off into the desert in a 4x4 all terrain vehicle that s ideal for negotiating the rugged landscape. As you drive along, you will pass through arid mountains, into deep canyons and follow the sand dunes that protect the beach blessed coast. You can expect a remarkably picturesque ride with the occasional stop for the naturalist to elaborate on the flora. Besides ever present cacti, a variety of palms dot the landscape, as do damiana shrubs, whose serrated leaves are consumed as tea or infused into margaritas. As the boat motors out through the Cabo harbor and into the bay, you ll be fitted with a harness and then one at a time, you ll sit down on the back of the boat, it s simple and easy the boat does the rest! 14 CABO SAN LUCAS SPORTFISHING Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Tour Code: CSL_09 Enjoy a five hour fishing excursion to the richest game fishing grounds known to anglers. As the boat heads out to the fishing area, the poles will be set with lures by the mate to minimize the possibility of the lines becoming tangled. This type of fishing is trolling. Boats do not troll with live bait, as it is good for perhaps fifteen minutes maximum. This means the boat will be in the open ocean and four lines with lures will be utilized in pole holders and outriggers. All of the hooked fish will be rotated between the participants on the boat. When a fish is spotted, the mate will reel in the four lines and then set a line with the live bait. If a fish takes the bait, the mate will 'set the hook' and give the pole to the first person in the fighting chair. When the first person has landed the fish (or if the fish got away), the next person will have the next hooked fish and so on. When everyone has had a turn in the chair the rotation will start over.
