POLYISO POST Plant 550, Terrell, TX Q1 & Q Stacking the Deck! Terrell s production line is on the cutting edge of technology! Robotic palletizers were installed in February These robots stack the panels more quickly and efficiently than ever before. The palletizers can be adjusted on the fly to accommodate the size to the board we re running. The system also allows us to reduce costs related to temporary labor, the potential for ergonomic injuries and floor space. Not to mention how cool they look! Installation took about two weeks. During the installation, operators spent time learning and testing the new system. We had visiting operators from the Montgomery facility to help during the transition. Our Production Supervisors, Juan Salinas and Shad Johnson, along with two operators, Cody Stowe and Jeff Merchant, traveled to the Montgomery, NY, facility to learn how to program the stackers and troubleshoot issues. 2 CCM Standardization Training Plant 550 hosted Tim Wickard, Director of Quality Systems, as he presented CCM s Standardization Training in March. Production employees from all three Texas plants participated. Kaizen Team (L to R): Daniel Millette, Ronald Smith, Tony Adams, Brandi Hendrix, Ramon Alvarez, Jason Danford, Brian Alexander, Andrew Razanauskas (not pictured: Anthony Dias) Warehouse Layout Kaizen In June, a Kaizen team was formed to develop an improved layout for our raw materials. The team identified opportunities to increase raw materials storage, organize spare parts, and increase finished goods storage. On day one of the event, the team members designed individual layouts to best utilize the space available and eliminate waste. One important goal of the team was to eliminate transportation waste by moving raw materials closer to the point of use. As a result, the team decided that a push-back rack was needed to be able to store some raw materials closer to the production line. During the second day of the event, the team split into subgroups and worked on the floor to clean, organize and re-label the areas. The product training area was also reorganized to move items that were on the floor and blocking walkways. Before As a result of this Kaizen event, the team eliminated transportation waste by moving the black facer closed to the production line and installing a push-back rack. They also improved safety by cleaning the racks and clearing the walkways. Most importantly, the plant will gain and additional finished goods storage area. After -Brian Alexander Production Manager

Our Local Hero It was a typical Saturday in March. Jason Danford was at home enjoying his weekend when he noticed smoke coming from his neighbors house. He banged on the door calling for his neighbors. There was no one home but he could hear dogs barking. His neighbors owned three dogs that were trapped in their cages in the garage. Jason felt the heat from the flames but he knew he had to rescue the dogs! He ran back outside and lifted the garage door with his brute strength. He was able to save all three puppies! What a hero! Jason Danford Jason Danford has been with CCM for 10 years He is the Maintenance Manager for the Terrell Polyiso and CCW plants. See You at Six Flags! October 3, :00pm This year s company picnic will be at Six Flags Over Texas. Employees will receive free theme park passes for themselves and their family. Parking is included along with a Texas sized feast! Don t forget to pick up your prize pack while you re there! See Loida for details.

What I Live For Everyone has something they live to see or experience. No matter what your passion is, we engage in safe behaviors so we can live for what matters to us. This June, we celebrated National Safety Month with the theme of, What I Live For. Employees shared their special something with the team (next section) and we enjoyed safety-themed snacks and drinks. No matter what you live for, safety is the key! #Ilivefor

Heat Stress Safety Tips 2015 Safety Committee Brian Alexander Pablo Carrillo Robert Daniel Dan Gulick Brandi Hendrix Michael Hicks Mike Hill Vince Hubbard Jeff Merchant Everett Robinson Juan Salinas If you work outside in the summer or areas that are warm all year you should know about heat stress safety. Heat stress is caused by over exposure to hot climates. You might not think it is possible but you can suffer from heat related injuries inside as well as outside. Heat stress occurs when your bodies core temperature rises above normal. Follow these heat stress safety tips to prevent an accident. Wear light loose fitting clothes that allow air to flow through them. Clothes should be light colors that reflect heat rather than dark which attracts heat. Eat light meals that won t weigh you down. Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day. Avoid drinks with caffeine in them. They will cause you to dehydrate faster. Take breaks to cool off. Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke Heat stress can lead to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. The body is having trouble maintaining an adequate temperature and is dehydrating to due lack of liquids and electrolytes. If you or someone you are working with starts to show these symptoms seek medical help immediately. There are a few things you can do while waiting for help to keep the person from getting worse. Move them to a cooler area where they can sit or lie down Give them water if possible Remove any heavy clothing Cool them by sponging with water or fanning them Notify the supervisor Seek medical attention if necessary Source:

HR CORNER Save the Date! Wells Fargo Investment Basics November 10, 2015 Learn how to take control of your 401(k) Leadership Artwork (actual picture in center) Leadership Skills The topic for our March Leadership Development training was, Crystal Clear. Attendees participated in an exercise where they were assigned a role as either an instructor or a receiver for giving directions. The receivers had to draw the picture, sight unseen, through the direction provided by the instruction. Afterwards, we compared the drawings to the actual picture and discussed keys to providing crystal clear direction, such as providing details and asking the receiver for feedback. If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, and become more, you are a leader! - John Quincy Adams -Brandi Hendrix HR Manager, CCM TX
