Address: Phone: Officials Recertification Test The Collegiate Swimming Officials Association wishes to thank you for your interest in becoming a registered CSOA official for NCAA swimming. The test you are about to take has been designed with three purposes in mind: first, to help you review the current and new NCAA rules of swimming; second, to help you become more familiar with the rule book, NCAA Men s & Women s Swimming and Diving Rules; and third, to test your knowledge of the swimming rules. The Collegiate Swimming Officials Association extends to you the best of luck on the test and hopes that your continued relationship with the sport of swimming will be both enjoyable and rewarding. Test Description. The certification test is based solely on the NCAA rules book. The test consists of multiple-choice and true-false items that deal with swimming. Most rules specific to the conduct of diving events are not covered. Because the answers to many, if not most, of the content questions should be obvious and because competent sports officials are expected to make few, if any, mistakes, a minimum grade of 90% correct is required for certification. You can repeat the test 5 times in order to obtain certification, but only once per day. Instructions. Please read the entire rule book carefully before starting this test. The test is open-book and there is no time limit. It may be completed in one session or in multiple sessions over several days. However, once you start the test, you are encouraged to work alone. You may not discuss the test with anyone until after you have finished it. This test is the property of the Collegiate Swimming Officials Association (CSOA), and duplication or use of any part(s) is prohibited unless prior approval is obtained from the CSOA. Test Items: 1. When reading the rules book, rules with the word shall or must are absolutely required and cannot be changed.
