(streamline, stroke efficiency / length / technique, fitness) Conceptual: Why is it so important to be water smart? Debatable: Should every school child become a confident (not competent) swimmier for sake of their own safety? Instructions and assessment: This task assesses Criteria A, C & D Read the criteria descriptors carefully before you start your work. This will give you a clear understanding of what is required and what a quality piece of work for this task must include. This way you give yourself the best chance of achieving the highest level in this task.

2 The assessment requires the students to: Criterion A: Complete a written assessment on, techniques and principles of swimming. Criterion C: Student has to demonstrate and finish the distance of the 3 competitive strokes in front of a video camera (25m front crawl, 25m backstroke and 25m breast stroke, with short rest in between.) Student will also have to demonstrate a race start for each stroke. Criterion D: Students will have to describe and summarize performance in this unit.
