Entry deadline 5 PM, February 4. New times achieved Feb 5-8 many be entered AT the meet where achieved with the Admin Referee (no late entries for 1650 free). Prelims: Rose Bowl Aquatics Center, two 8 lane prelim courses. Finals: East LA College, closed deck, ready room, athlete march-in, awards stand, and staged relays. Entries Due: Entries must be received by 5PM on Wednesday, February 4, Entry may be received electronically, USPS, delivery service or hand delivered. Team electronic entries are strongly recommended. Facilities/Courses: Rose Bowl: outdoor 18 lane, 25 yard pool with two 8 lane competition courses. The competition course has been certified in accordance with C (4). Pool depth at start end and at the turn end is 6 7 ELAC: indoor 8 lane, 25-yard pool. The competition course has been certified in accordance with (C). Pool depth at start: 9 feet, at turn end: 13 feet. The certification copies are on file with USA Swimming. A separate 25-yard pool will be available for warm-up/ warm-down at both sites. Directions: RBAC: 360 N. Arroyo Blvd., Pasadena, CA Please use Google Maps, MapQuest or Thomas Guide for directions. Pool is at the far southeast end of the parking lot I. There are signs in the area directing you to the Rose Bowl. The Aquatic Center is 1000 yards directly south of the Rose Bowl. Parking is free. ELAC: 1301 Avenida Cesar Chavez, Monterey Park, CA. From the Pomona (60) freeway, exit Atlantic Blvd, head north two blocks on Atlantic. Turn left onto Avenida Cesar Chavez. The college is one block down on the right hand side. Use parking structure #3; the pool facility is north/behind the parking facility. Per the ELAC facility agreement - There is a $5 parking fee (Cash Only) PER DAY. Directions from Rose Bowl to ELAC: ELAC is less than 10 miles from Rose Bowl down Los Robles Ave, which becomes Atlantic, south all the way to Cesar Chavez. On the weekend days it may be quicker to take the 110 South, to the 5 South, to the 60 East, exit Atlantic. North to Cesar Chavez and turn left to the parking structure. Or use google maps for other directions. Allow minutes between venues. Meet Start Times: Friday: timed final 1000s at Rose Bowl 5:00 PM. Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning sessions for prelim and timed final events will begin at Rose Bowl at 8:30 AM. It is estimated that Prelims will be over before Noon all three days. Finals: 5:00 PM Saturday, 4:00 PM Sunday and 3:30 PM Monday at ELAC. Finals will begin no sooner than 2 hours after the completion of the prelims session that day. ENTRY INFORMATION Eligibility: Open to 2015 USA Swimming/SCS registered swimmers who have achieved the short course or long course time standards for this meet. Relay-only swimmers MUST be included in the team entry file. Registration application must be received by Wednesday, February 4 by 5PM by meet processor, administrative referee or SCS Office. Swimmers may enter the meet unattached; please designate unattached swimmers UN (non-scoring, no relays). All TEAMS must be 2015 Club members of USA Swimming. If an entering team is not a 2015 member, its swimmers must swim as unattached at this meet and may not compete in relays. Late registration will be considered on deck subject to penalties in SCS Swim Guide, Part One, III, B. Qualifying Times: Submit short course yard (SCY) or long course meter (LCM) times achieved for each event. Times must have been achieved between 01/01/2014 and 02/04/2015 and must be verifiable (meets not in SWIMS are provable only with official results subject to approval by SCS) - refer to 2015 SCS Swim Guide. Only swimmers/relay teams with verified times will be seeded.

3 Coaches, swimmers & parents are reminded that this is a proof-of-time meet. Discrepancies in submitted times may lead to disciplinary action. NOTE: All entry times will be verified in advance through the USA SWIMS database. NEW (no time updates) entry times achieved 02/05/15-02/08/15 MAY ONLY BE ENTERED by the Meet Administrative Referee of that competition and submitted by by MIDNIGHT 02/08/15 to blwswim@earthlink.net. Individual Entry Limit: A swimmer may ENTER a maximum of NINE (9) individual events for which the listed time standard has been achieved and can be verified. A swimmer may SWIM no more than THREE (3) individual events per day and SIX (6) total individual events for the meet. There is NO SWIMMER CHECK-IN at this meet. If more than 6 individual events are entered overall or more than 3 events per day, it is the coach s and/or athlete s responsibility to scratch down at Admin table to comply with daily and meet maximums. If more than 3 per day are entered and none are scratched, Admin will scratch any events over 3 in order. See Notes re special entry restrictions for 11/12 athletes and 1650 freestyle entries and scratch restrictions below Events Entry Rules: The swimmers may enter no more than TWO of the three in the following events: 100/ 200/400 IM, 50/100/ 200 Back, 50/100/200 Breast, 50/100/200 Fly. The Back (#17 & 18), 200 Breast (#117 & 118), 200 Fly (#71 & 72), and 400 IM (#7 & 8) will be swum as timed final events only during prelims. These events will not be swum in Finals Entry Rules: Only the top 8 times for each age group and gender will be accepted for the 1650 event on Monday. This event will swim as a timed final event at Rose Bowl as the last events in the Monday morning Prelims session. All coaches/athletes who enter a swimmer in the 1650 will be advised by Thursday, February 5 th, if the swimmer is in the top 8. Refunds will be offered to those not selected. There will be NO late entries for the 1650 Free. Coaches/athletes who make the top 8 have until 9 PM February 6 th to scratch out of the mile by notifying the meet processor. An athlete may not change to another event after this 9 PM Feb. 6 deadline. If a swimmer: (1) enters the mile and does NOT qualify as one of the top 8 swimmers in their age group/gender; AND (2) has entered the maximum number of meet events (9), including the mile, then the meet processor will contact coaches by February 5 th to provide an opportunity for that swimmer to enter one other event (in lieu of the mile) for which they qualify. This change/addition can only be made in response to the meet processor request after entries are submitted and must be replied to by 9 PM February 6 th. Relays: Relays and relay-only swimmers are pre-entered electronically and prepaid ($12 per relay, $12 per relay-only swimmer surcharge). There is NO on-deck entry of relay-only swimmers. Relays must be checked in or scratched by the end of the prelims each day; scratches by the daily deadline will be refunded. Once a relay has been checked in and the event has closed, failure of the relay to report will result in a disqualification of the club s relay from the next relay event for that age group and gender. All relay entries must be proven 13/14, 15/ medley relay: Enter using 400 medley relay qualifying times. RELAYS WILL BE SWUM IN FINALS SESSIONS at ELAC only. No AM relay swims will be permitted. Relay Entry requirements: A swimmer may swim all relay events in his/her age group. A club is limited to TWO relays per event. Relay times must meet the qualifying time standard and have been achieved between 01/01/2014 and 02/04/2015. If entering one relay, a club may use an achieved time OR aggregate of listed swimmers best times. If entering two relays, a club MUST use aggregate of listed swimmers best times. Swimmers used to prove relay times must be in the age group of the relay on February 13, Entry Procedure: Team Electronic Entry is highly preferred. Please use the event file provided on the SCS website for electronic entries ( The electronic entry file must be accompanied by a printout (signed by coach). When entering electronically, Y or L must be indicated on the proof of time sheet. FULL payment (single team check or certified funds) for an e- mail entry must be postmarked within 48 hours of the entry. Failure to comply will be referred to the SCS Board of Review. Fees: $12.00 per swimmer surcharge (individual and relay only). $5.25 per individual event entered. $12 per entered relay. 4 RULES & PROCEDURES Meet Referee: The Meet Referee shall be in charge of the meet. Any questions regarding the conduct of the meet should be directed to that person. Rules: USA Swimming Rules govern; current SCS meet procedures will be in effect and take precedence over any errors or omissions on this form. There is no swimmer check-in at this meet. Swimmers or coaches must SCRATCH events at Admin by 4:30 PM Friday and by 8:00 AM Sat/Sun/Mon (for events that day). Scratches will also be accepted the evening before the event swims. Events will be closed and seeded following these scratch deadlines. After each event is closed, a swimmer may not scratch. Swimmers must compete in their own age group. Age on February 13, 2015, determines age for the meet. All events, including relays, will be swum fast to slow, with the first three heats of Prelims circle seeded. Recording Devices & Media Notice: The use of audio visual recording devices, including cell phones, is not permitted in locker rooms, changing areas or restrooms. Recording devices are not permitted behind the starting blocks during the starting sequence. This meet may be covered by the media, including photographs, video, web casting and other forms of obtaining images of athletes participating in the meet. Entry into the meet is acknowledgement and consent to this fact. Swimwear: Swimwear must conform to USA Swimming Rule Only swimsuits complying with FINA swimsuit specifications may be worn in any USA Swimming sanctioned or approved competition. Deck Changing: Changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is prohibited. Racing Start Certification: Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a 2015 USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. Warm-up Procedures: Controlled warm-ups will begin on Friday at 3:30 PM and Sat-Sun-Mon at 7:00 AM. in the Rose Bowl competition pool for the morning sessions. At East LA College, warm-ups will begin for Finals sessions at 4:00 PM Saturday, 3:30 PM Sunday and 2:30 PM Monday. The competition pools will be closed at 10 minutes prior to session start, with supervised warmup/warm-down available in the adjoining pool. Warm-up procedures will be posted at the pool. Swimmers must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach during warm ups. MEET INFORMATION Finals: A single championship final (8 swimmers) per event will be offered at East Los Angeles College, EXCEPT: (1) Relays are timed finals events and will be swum in event number order, fastest to slowest, during Finals sessions only; (2) 1000 (Friday) and 1650 (Monday) are timed finals events at Rose Bowl (no heats of the 1000 or 1650 will be swum in Finals); (3) the Back (#17 & 18), 200 Fly (#71 & 72), 200 Breast (#119 & 120), and 400 IM (#7 & 8), and the Free (#77 & 78) are timed finals events in Prelim sessions at Rose Bowl. The National Finals scratch rule will be used. A swimmer must scratch or place an intent on an event within 30 minutes of announcement of preliminary results. Final no-show (original top 8 places only), except last day, will be removed from the remainder of the meet. A $50.00 fine will be assessed to any swimmer for a no show in her/his last event of the meet. This fine must be paid before any future competitions in SCS. Awards: Individual: 1st-8th places, custom medals. Relays: 1st-3rd place teams, custom medals. Team: 1st-3rd award plaques for girls/boys/combined team in Large Division, Medium Division and Small Division (teams will be assigned to divisions prior to meet start based on meet entries) Scoring: Individual: Relays: Even though there is just one Championship Final heat of 8 swimmers per individual event, the top 16 swimmers in each event (except the 1650) will score points. Team scoring will be posted at the conclusion of each event (in Finals for events swum in Finals; after event for timed finals). Individual Finalists score 1 st -8 th place; 9 th -16 th scored on Prelim results. Relays score 1 st through 16 th based on finish order.

5 Closed Deck at Finals: Please note, Finals at ELAC will be run with an entirely CLOSED DECK. Only coaches, officials, athletes and volunteers will be permitted on deck. You must have a deck pass to be on deck. All relays at Finals will be staged from the patio side of the ELAC pool. Entry to the starting blocks will be restricted throughout Finals to the patio side entrance only. A ready room is available for all champion finalists prior to their event. Medal presentations and medal stand photos will occur immediately following the Finals event, as swimmers depart the pool, with the following exceptions: --Medalists in Events 1 & 2 (1000 Free) will be awarded at Rose Bowl following the event Friday evening. --All timed finals events (#7/8, #17/18, #71/72) and the 5-10 timed finals 500 Free (#77/78) will be awarded at Rose Bowl immediately following the event each day. --Medalists in Events # (1650 Frees) will be awarded at Rose Bowl immediately following the event. Distance Events: The 1000 (Ev.# 1 and 2) will be seeded and swum all ages combined, fastest to slowest, on a girls and boys course, concurrently, at Rose Bowl on Friday evening. This is a timed final event and will be scored by age group swimmers are requested to supply their own lap counter. Timers will be provided by the host. The 1650 is a timed final event that will be run at Rose Bowl as the last prelim events on Monday morning. There will be one 1650 heat of 8 swimmers, per age group, per gender, swum according to event number on the girls and boys course (Events 133 and 134 will swim first, then events 135 & 136, then 137 & 138). No 1650s will be swum in Finals. Swimmers in the 1650 freestyle are requested to supply a timer for three heats and their own lap counter. Hotels & Restaurants: There are numerous hotels in the Pasadena/South Pasadena/Monterey Park area. Given the holiday weekend, no special deals are available for meet participants and those needing accommodation should make their own arrangements as soon as possible. A list of hotels is included here. There are no guaranteed rates; please contact hotels directly or go on line to booking sites for reservations and information. Old Pasadena (around Colorado Blvd.) is within a half mile of the RBAC. There are over 60 restaurants within two miles of the pool. Go to this website for info on dining, entertainment, and shopping near the pool site ( TIME TRIALS: Separate Sanction #S Will be swum, time permitting on Saturday, Sunday and Monday at Rose Bowl, following the preliminary sessions. Open to all meet participants (individual and relay-only). Three events per day limit applies (champs events + Time Trials = 3 individual events per day or less). Time trial events do not count toward 6 event meet maximum. Deck Entered: entry fee is $10.00 per event, no refunds after seeding. Enter and pay at the Administrative desk. Participants must provide their own back up timers. An event may be swum only once as a time trial. The Administrative Referee will determine the order of the events. All relay entries must be proven; maximum of two relays per team per event , medley relays are entered using 400 medley relay times. Relays will only swim at ELAC Finals; there will be no relay swims offered in the morning sessions.
