1 2014 SECTION V GIRLS TENNIS I. SECTION V POST SEASON TEAM TOURNAMENT All teams will qualify for the Section V Team Tournament in each classification. Please see P. 4 for a listing of the Sectional Assignments by League. All classifications will continue to be subdivided into two divisions. Class AA and A Class BB and B Class CC and C The winning team in each division will receive a Team Trophy and White Sectional Championship Patches for each team member. The finalist team will receive a Certificate of Achievement. Schedule The Tournaments will begin on Monday, October 6 and play will continue on consecutive days, ending Thursday, October 9 unless weather intervenes. The only reason for a postponement should be the weather. Any other reason must be approved by the Sectional Coordinator. Sites All matches through the quarterfinals will be played on the home courts of the higher seeded team. If opponents are more than 75 miles away from each other, the match will be played on a neutral site in between and agreeable to both teams. Furthermore, it is suggested that any opponents located more than an hour away from each other should find a neutral site in between. The home team will provide the balls. Match time will be 4:00 P.M. In the event of inclement weather, it is the responsibility of the home team s athletic director to contact the opposing team s athletic director by 1:45 P.M. if the match will be postponed. The semi-finals and finals will be played on a neutral site agreed upon by both teams. The higher seed will be considered the home team and provide the balls. Match time will be 4:00 P.M. Qualifying For 2014, the Sectional Team Tournament will be an open Team Tournament in all classifications with ranking decided by head-to-head competition. When there is no record of head-to-head competition, the following criteria will be used: 1. competition versus common opponents, 2. crossover competition between leagues and/or divisions 3. win-loss record. Any school choosing not to participate in the Team Sectional Tournament must let the Sectional Tournament Coordinator know of their intentions by Wednesday,
