All games will be governed by 2017 United States Women s Lacrosse Association. b. Teams must adhere to the NJSIAA game limitations. c. The Tournament will be comprised of one championship bracket of 16 teams. The winner will be determined on the basis of single elimination. d. Letters of intent filed with the Shore Conference in the fall will certify a school s entrance into the play-offs. e. The Tournament Director must be notified by the winning team. 2 SHORE CONFERENCE GIRLS LACROSSE TOURNAMENT FORMAT page 2 2. TEAM SELECTION a. Sixteen (16) teams will be chosen by a seeding committee. Teams must have a.500 record or better. If there are not enough teams with a.500 record or better, teams will be chosen by the committee in order to complete the field of 16. The committee will seed the teams based on strength of division and schedule. Therefore, if there are not 16 teams with a.500 record, a team with a sub.500 record may be seeded above a team with a winning record. b. The cut-off for the selection will be Friday, May 5, 2017 at the conclusion of all afternoon games. Fax win/loss record by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017 ( ). The seeding meeting will be Friday, May 5, 2016 at Ocean Township High 6:00 p.m. c. It is the responsibility of the competing schools to make any schedule adjustments to accommodate the tournament. d. The tournament will include all divisional champions, co-champions and trichampions. No team will be guaranteed a seeded position. Any school not wishing to compete in the tournament must notify the Shore Conference Secretary (Joe Montano) by the start of the first regularly scheduled game, which for girls lacrosse is Wednesday, March 29, NO EXCEPTIONS! 3. DATES, SITES, TIMES a. Round One: Monday, May 8, 2017 at higher seed. Higher seed is the home team and will wear white colors and will pay both officials. Game time is 3:45 p.m.., unless mutually decided by both teams of a different time. b. Round Two: Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at higher seed. Higher seed is the home team and will wear white colors and will pay officials. Game time is 3:45 p.m.

3 SHORE CONFERENCE GIRLS LACROSSE TOURNAMENT FORMAT page 3 c. Semi-finals: A doubleheader on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Ocean Township High School. Higher seed will wear white, and will pay both officials, as well as supply timers and scorers. Game times will be 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Tickets $3.00 students and seniors - $5.00 adults. d. Finals: Monday, May 15, 2017 at a Georgian Court University. The higher seed will wear white colors. A coin flip will determine the position/direction. Game time is 3:30 p.m. Tickets: $3.00 students and seniors - $5.00 adults. 4. POSTPONEMENTS a. The Tournament Director must be notified when a game: 1. Is rained out. 2. Conflicts with the State Tournament. 3. Cannot be played due to poor field conditions. 4. If the home field is not playable, the game will be switched to the opponent s field if the opponent s field is playable. If both fields are not playable, a neutral site may be obtained by the Tournament Director. b. If there is any question about field conditions, the officials will determine whether or not the field is playable. 5. TIE GAMES OR SUSPENDED GAMES a. Tie breakers will be the same as those established for the 2017 NJSIAA Tournament. This will allow for consistency in all tournament play. Coaches must have the regulations in their possession.

In the event a game is not completed due to weather, darkness, or field conditions, follow Rule 4: Time Factors and Scoring, in Lacrosse Rule Book. c. In the finals, a tie will be governed by the NJSIAA Tournament Rules and Regulations. 6. ENTRY FEE The entry fee is $80.00 per team. Only the 16 teams selected have to pay the entry fee. This fee will cover championship game expenses (Officials, timers, trainers, security, awards, and Director s expenses). Make check payable to: SHORE CONFERENCE and send to Joe Montano at Red Bank Catholic High School, 112 Broad Street, Red Bank, NJ when you are selected. Please be sure to use the attached Shore Conference Voucher. 7. AWARDS The championship school will receive a Shore Conference plaque. 8. OFFICIALS Officials will be assigned by the Shore Conference Assignor in conjunction with the Tournament Director. Home team or higher seed will pay for the officials except in the finals. Each team selected to be in the tournament shall submit a list of at least 10 officials to the assignor with a copy to the Tournament Director. The lists should be in preference order and submitted by Monday, April 17, These lists will be used in the semi-finals and the finals.

5 SHORE CONFERENCE GIRLS LACROSSE TOURNAMENT FORMAT page 5 9. SCHOOL RESPONSIBILITY a. Each school is responsible for its own transportation. b. Athletic Directors are responsible for the care of the field and crowd control when the game is at their field. c. The school is responsible for any cost incurred while hosting a tournament game. 10. MEDIA The winning team must notify all media, including newspapers and local radio. They must notify the Tournament Director. 11. SEEDING COMMITTEE TBA Rusty Todd Tournament Director
