Brink and Reckermann won a European tour event this season in Berlin after placing second in the first two stops in Gran Canaria, Spain, and Baden, Austria. Brink and Christoph Dieckmann placed 19th at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Brink won a gold medal with Christoph Dieckmann at the 2006 European continental Championships in The Hague, Netherlands. Brink and Christoph Dieckmann captured three SWATCH FIVB World Tour and five European Tour gold medals. Brink and Kjell Schneider captured a SWATCH FIVB World Tour gold medal at a 2005 stop in Espinho, Portugal. Brink and Schneider also placed third at the 2005 SWATCH FIVB World Championships in Berlin and the Paris Grand Slam stop. Reckermann placed ninth at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games with Markus Dieckmann. Brink and Markus Dieckmann captured two SWATCH FIVB World Tour and two European Tour gold medals. Reckermann won a gold medal with Markus Dieckmann at the 2002 AND 2004 European continental Championships at Basel, Switzerland, and Timmendorfer Strand, Germany, respectively. Only Christoph Dieckmann (US$447,060, 21st) has earned more money for FIVB events than Reckermann (US$435,528, 23rd) and Brink (US$405,360, 25th). Reckermann has earned the most podium placements among Germany players all-time on the SWATCH FIVB World Tour with 19, including four gold, 11 silver and three bronze medals with one pending.
