We know your entry will be a great addition to the parade theme Rockin Christmas and will be enjoyed by the thousands of spectators lining the parade route. Note: The Parade will begin at 10:00am. This is your supplemental Day of Packet for your Float or Specialty Entry in the 2016 Parade. Enclosed you will find the following: Share this information with everyone in your Camarillo Christmas Parade Complete Line-Up entry including your driver. This packet is General Rules and Information available for download at Inclement Weather Plan Street Closing Schedule review this as times have changed! Parade Map Back Route Map with Directions (See special check-in requirements for semi-trucks & oversized vehicles) End of Parade Disembarking Map & Directions Check-In Check in begins at 7:30am and ends at 8:45am. You must be checked in by 8:45am. A representative will need to check-in with a parade official at the corner of Temple Ave. and Aloha St. prior to 8:45am. Once you have been checked-in, you will be given your parade number, which is the same as your line-up number and assigned a staging location. Please use Charter Oak Park as a meeting area for your group then walk to your assigned staging area on Temple Ave. Please do NOT attempt to drive your vehicle on Temple Ave. Temple Avenue will close to traffic at 7:00am. Since it will be several hours from the time you begin staging to the time you reach the end of the parade we suggest you bring water, sunscreen, something light to eat, and be prepared for unpredictable weather. The Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District and the City of Camarillo prohibit the distribution of items such as candy or promotional information by parade participants during the parade. Entrants are also prohibited from leaving the parade formation in order to collect items along the parade route, with the exception of restroom stops. Unauthorized Vehicles on Temple Ave. Any vehicle that is not participating in the parade is not authorized to drive on Temple Ave. Only vehicles/floats driving in the parade will be allowed to drive from the check-in location at 55th Annual Christmas Parade Rockin Christmas, Saturday, December 10, 2016

2 Temple Ave. & Aloha St. to their assigned staging location. All vehicles dropping off participants are asked to drop off or park at Charter Oak Park and walk their child to the staging area. Judging Entries will be judged prior to the parade in the staging area. Judging begins at 8:30am sharp. Please have your entry decorated and all participants ready to show enthusiasm to the judges. Designate one representative to talk to the judges about your entry. In appreciation of the time and energy that you and your group put into entering the parade, the Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District will place a banner recognizing award recipients in front of each award-winning entry as you travel the parade route. We hope you will attend the Award Presentation at the stage in the Community Center Park and immediately following the parade. The Award Presentation will begin approximately at 1:30pm. If you do not wish to have your entry judged then all participants must be in the staging area with your entry by 9:00am. Child Pick up/meet All parade entries will end at Santa s Village located at the Community Center. We recommend parking your vehicle in the neighborhood located around the Community Center and meeting your child at the playground or inside the courtyard. Restrooms, food and holiday shopping is available at Santa s Village. 7 Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District Presents the 55 th Annual Camarillo Christmas Parade Rockin Christmas BOARD OF DIRECTORS MIKE MISHLER NEAL DIXON MARK MALLOY ROBERT KELLEY ELAINE MAGNER GENERAL MANAGER MARY OTTEN GENERAL RULES AND GUIDELINES All parade participants are expected to comply with the following rules: 1. To avoid gaps in the parade, please do not stop along the parade route. The parade starter will direct you to begin at certain intervals. Please maintain this spacing, and do not close in on preceding units. Parade staff will be wearing green staff shirts. If you create gaps or stop in any way, they will ask you to keep moving. 2. To insure the safety of spectators, especially children, the distribution or throwing of any items, including candy, by the parade participants to the spectators is strictly prohibited. 3. All participants holding a balloon should be dressed in a group shirt, uniform, warm up, etc. that identifies your group. 4. There will be only one Santa Claus allowed in the parade and he will ride on the Santa Claus float at the end of the parade. Please do not have a Santa Claus in your entry. 5. Participants are asked not to race engines, make loud noises, or make quick movements near the equestrian units. 6. Vehicles should not be left at the parade start or staging area after the last unit has departed unless legally parked. Please do not leave your vehicle or entry without a driver at any time. 7. At parade finish (Carmen and Burnley), participants should maintain the same spacing until they reach the Community Center. All units will be dispersed at the Community Center where award ceremonies and Santa s Village will be held. 8. Participants should comply with all instructions from parade officials or police officers. 9. Floats/Specialty Units or vehicles should not be left unattended at any time during the staging of the parade. A driver must always be present. 10. Share the contents, directions and information of this packet with everyone in your entry. 11. Please remove all of your trash from the staging area. 8 PARADE ROUTE The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. on the corner of Temple Ave. and Las Posas Rd., then proceeds westerly along Las Posas Rd. for 1.6 miles (approximately 35 min.) to Carmen Drive where the parade turns left on Carmen Dr. and proceeds to Burnley St. There are many spectators along Carmen Dr., so please remain in formation until you reach Burnley St. Parade participants then turn left on Burnley St. and into the Community Center grounds to disembark and view the awards ceremonies. These are to be placed in a recognizable area. You must check in with your unit director to receive your number. All units will be given a set of identical numbers, to be displayed on the right and left hand sides of your unit.
