1 Saturday, September 23 Early Check-in Wellesley High School Early Check-In Assist with registering walkers and Pacesetters, collecting any fundraising gifts, recording bib numbers, confirming contact information, and distributing T-shirts, bibs, hats, Pacesetter items, etc. be provided upon arrival. Bus Program Course Monitor Emcee Finish Usher Hopkinton, Riverside MBTA Station, Copley Square Finish locations, Copley Square Finish, & Route Help direct walkers to the buses as they prepare to trek the Boston Marathon course, make last-minute announcements, and answer any event-day related questions participants may ask. You may be asked to ride the bus between your volunteer location and one of the Walk Start locations in order to make Walk day announcements. Direct walkers at Start, Finish, and various points along the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk course, while reminding them to be careful and walk in a safe manner at all times. Don t forget to cheer! Read scripted Walk day announcements and updates to alert walkers of important information before they depart for the course. Enthusiasm is required. Assist with flow of pedestrian/walker traffic by guiding the walkers down the Finish chute to snacks, photo area, and shuttle buses. At no time will volunteers be directing vehicular traffic. 2 Finish Security Monitor Food and Beverage Fun and Games Green Planeteer Greeter Hat Hyundai Hero Hub and Dana-Farber 5K Walk Start and and Help to set up the Finish perimeter; maintain post at pedestrian passageways and entrances; manage access into and out of the Finish area, assist with flow of walkers in the Finish chute; assist with break down. Help to prepare and distribute a variety of food and beverages to walkers. Food and Beverage s are responsible for the following: set up food and beverage area and supplies; distribute food and beverages to walkers and replenish supplies as necessary; keep the area clean and discard of trash accordingly; breakdown the area including disassembly of chairs, tables, and decorations. Assist participants and families with games area. Help keep the course clean and green by encouraging participants to use trash and recycle receptacles throughout the day Welcome walkers and help them navigate the food and beverage, registration, and bib and T- shirt pick-up areas. Distribute Jimmy Fund Walk hats to participants. Assist with games and hospitality in the Hyundai Hero Hub, where Jimmy Fund Walk Heroes gather and meet their teams after the Walk. Must be 18 years or older and assertive. Medal Distributor Distribute Jimmy Fund Walk medals to Page 2 of 5

4 Pacesetter Bib and T-shirt Pick-up Photo Ribbon Wall Team Photo T-shirt Pick-up and Wellesley Half Marathon Walk Start and Dana- Farber 5K Walk Start Locations Review registration with event participant, search for his/her name, collect any fundraising gifts, record bib #, confirm contact information, distribute T-shirt and bib (if necessary), and confirm that Pacesetters have received their rewards for achieving this elite fundraising level. Volunteers will be provided with a Jimmy Fund Walk photo frame and will assist participants in taking photos on their phones or cameras. Assist participants with writing on and tying ribbons to the in-honor of Ribbon Wall. Assist the Jimmy Fund Walk s photographer in arranging and taking team photos at the Copley Square Finish. Distribute Jimmy Fund Walk T-shirts to registered participants who have not already picked up their shirts. Comfort with phone photo technology preferred, but not required. Welcome and assist participants as they register on Walk day. This includes answering any questions about fundraising requirements, the course, and the. Lastly, distribute bibs & T-shirts to newly registered participants. Jump in wherever an extra hand is needed throughout your shift. Group Volunteer Opportunities One of 12 refueling stations located along the Boston Marathon course Along the course Assist with setup and breakdown of the Refueling Station, food and beverage distribution, clean crew, cheering, and more! Cheer on walkers to help keep them motivated and thank them for their efforts! Training is required and will be provided on Walk day. Position may be outdoors, please dress accordingly.
