2 What is the Pedestrian Safety Issue? In 2014: 4,884 pedestrians were killed in traffic crashes in the U.S. - 2% increase from In 2015: City of Dallas had the 9 th highest pedestrian fatality rate from all US cities with populations larger than 500, Pedestrian deaths *Dallas - Rate 4.31 per 100,000 population * US Rate 1.67 per 100,000 population Pedestrian deaths in Dallas County increased by 58% from 2013 to 2016.

PHOTOVOICE is a project designed to help students better understand pedestrian safety in their PHOTOVOICE uses photography to enable individuals to: Record and vivify their community s strengths and concerns Promote critical dialogue and knowledge about community issues through group discussion of photographs Reach policy makers community.
