3 A. Competition Categories Cyber Premeir League has two competition categories: (i) Robo Pro-Kabadi (ii) Robo - Soccer A team may only participate in one category as per game rules. B. Age Group Definition 1. Robo Pro-Kabadi: Participants between the Grades 5 and 7 in the year of competition. 2. Robo - Soccer: Participants between the Grades 8 and 11 in the year of competition. Note: It is strictly enforced that students cannot be older than specified in the Age Group Definition. Students younger than the age group definition must obtain permission from the school management to participate in the competition and may only be approved if at least one of the team members has the correct age. If all members of a team are younger/older than required, then the team must participate in the corresponding competition. C. Team Definition CPL is a team based challenge. To participate in each category of competition, students must work in teams. A team consists of two (2) members. One (1) member is not considered to be a team and cannot participate. Robo Pro - Kabadi Robo Pro - Kabadi is a rounds based event comprises of 3 rounds namely (i) Qualifiers (ii) Semi-finals (iii) Finals The Kabadi Robot will be provided by the organizers for all the teams to compete on maze. Team members should control the robots with the remote control provided to them. Both the team members shall be provided with a separate robot to play against the opponent team. D(i) Round 1: Qualifiers 1. Qualifiers matches will be conducted as a 4:2 ratio game. 2. Two different teams will be clubbed as a single team i.e., four robots will play on one side. The same applies for the opponent side (2 teams will be clubbed as an opponent 4 players) 3. Among these 4 teams, winning side i.e., 2 teams will move to the next round based on the points scored. 4. Kabadi court is a rectangular two halves court with mark line at the center of the court. 5. Four robots will be placed inside the score line marked at the end of the both the sides. 6. The game will start at the count of 3 given by refree followed by a whistle. 7. Toss winning team can operate their robot and go for the first ride to the opponent area. 8. A main objective of the ride robot is to touch the score line mark of the opponent's side and return back without caught by the opponent team. 9. For each successful ride, 5 points will be provided to the winning team. In case the robot is caught by the opponent team, no points shall be given and the failed robot should move out of the court and wait for the remaining team members to win the next ride. 10. The task of the opponent robot is to stop the ride robot from touching the score line and also to push the Cyber Premier League Page 4

5 robot out of the court if the ride robot touches the line and tries to return back. 11. For each successful defending, the opponent team shall gain 5 points. 12. The center mark line is the place which decides the score for the teams. 13. Qualifier matches shall lasts for 5 minutes. The team with leading points at the end of the match will be qualified and moved to the semifinals. D(ii) Round 2: Semi-Finals 1. Semi - Final matches will be conducted as a 4:1 ratio game. 2. Each team members will be provided with one robot and one remote to control it. 3. The maze will have a circle at the center. All the 4 teams will be asked to keep their robots inside the circle in such a way that first two teams robots should face one side of the maze and other two teams robots should face the next side of the maze. 4. The main objective of the game is to place the robot completely inside the score box present in the score line. (figure D(ii) A) 5. 6 6. After the whistle, robots should move from the circle all the way through the hurdles present in the maze. 7. If any team's robot occupies the score box in green area, the same score box in red area becomes invalid and viceversa. No other robot should aim for the same score in that area. D(iii) Round 3: Finals 8. At the end of the game any 4 robots can occupy the places so that the remaining 4 robots will not have the place free for them. 9. The team's total score will be calculated by adding the scores gained by both the team robots. 10. The team with highest score will move to the final round. Final round for the sortlisted teams will be revealed on the spot. It will be the combination of both round 1 and round 2 tasks. Cyber Premier League Page 6

General Rules - Robo Soccer Robo Soccer is a rounds based event comprises of 2 rounds namely (i) League Matches and (ii) Finals The teams should bring one soccer robot(kicker) which can either be a wired or wireless remote controlled. Goal keepers will be present on the soccer maze which is also a remote controlled model. It should be controlled by one of the team members. Dimensions: (i) Robot - 30cm x 30cm x 30cm (ii) Maze - 3m x 3m The robot should not exceed the given dimension including the front part if added in it. E(i) Practice Time 1. All teams should assemble in the alloted places inside the pit area before the round starts. 2. Total time for the practice is 30 minutes. 3. Each team shall avail the practice for 5 mins. 4. The teams will be called for the practice based on their registration number. 5. No points or scores will be added for the performance of the robot during the practice. 6. No extra time will be provided to any teams for any cause. E(ii) Round 2: League Matches 1.League matches will be conducted between 4 teams at a time. 2. Teams are called for the match based on their registration number. (Registration number will be provided online during the registration) 3.Qualifier matches will be conducted in 1:4 ratio. 1 team from the 4 teams will move to the next round based on the points scored. 4. Time for the qualifier match is 2 mins. If no teams scored points within 2 mins, none of the teams will be qualified to the next round. 5. The match starts once the whistle blown by the refree. Team members should not operate their robot before the whistle. 6. One member in a team should operate a robot with remote and Cyber Premier League Page 7

8 another person should operate the goal keeper present in the maze. Game Plan: 7. Four balls of different colors(red,green,blue,yellow) will be placed in the center circle of the soccer court. Each ball carries different points. Points for Red Ball 20 Points Green Ball 15 Points Blue Ball 10 Points Yellow Ball 5 Points vice versa. Team C should hit goals only in Team D's goal post and vice versa. (If team A is taking a ball, it can be defended by all other 3 teams i.e., any team can fight for any color balls but they should only hit it into their respective opponent goal post) 9. Goals hit on the different goal posts other than opponent's post will lead to the negative points of the respective color ball. 10.The team acquiring highest point at the end of 2 minutes will be selected and qualified for the next round. E(iii) Round 3: Finals 1. Round 3 Finals is a proper soccer game. Two teams will compete at a time in a soccer court with one ball placed at the center circle of the court. 2. Finals will be conducted as two half times. Each half time lasts for 3 mins. 8. Teams A,B,C and D are now allowed to place their robots in the start zone. Once the whistle given by refree, the players can operate their robots. 9. All the four teams should compete with each other to hit the balls in their respective opponent goal posts. For example: Team A should hit goals only in Team B's goal post and Cyber Premier League Page 8

9 3. Before the game starts, the teams are not allowed to operate their robots. 4. The game starts with the whistle blown by the refree. 5. One of the team member should control their robot while other should operate the goal keeper. 6. The team to start the game will be decided by the toss. toss winning team can hit the ball and start the match. 7. If a team hits the ball out of the mark line, the team will be given with penalty. The opponent team can take over the ball and play 8. Once the first half time (3 mins) over, the timer will be paused and the goals will be calculated and anounced. F. Registration Procedure: 9. During the break time, the teams can change their goal post areas and move to the another side. 10. Second half will also lasts for another 3 mins and the goals gained will be calculated at the end and the winner of the match will be announced. 11. The first three teams with maximum number of goals with a minimum time taken will be awarded at the end of the finals match. 12. Refree holds the rights to disqualify or give penalty for the teams in case of any violation on rules and the decision taken by the judge is final. 1. Cyber Premier League is an interschool robotics competition organised by Cyberbots Robotics Training institute in association with Maharishi Vidhya Mandir. The event is going to be held on Feb 10 th 2018 at Maharishi International Residential School, sriperumbudur 2. Online registration is required for participating in the competition, For registration logon to 3. Team should not exceeds of 2 participants, participants of the team shall be from any grades (as mentioned in age group definition) of any school. 4. Registration Fees per team is Rs.1000 (One thousand rupees only) 5.
