2 THE ACADEMICS Study Options If Oaklands College offer it, we ll try to support it. Our aim is to assist you the best we can to reach the career of your choice, therefore, all applications are dealt with on an individual basis. Length of Course 1-3 years (depends on your GCSE grades and choice of academic courses). Pre-Entry Requirements These will depend on which course you wish to study. Exact details can be found on the College website. NOTE: Students with a minimum of a GCSE Grade 4 (C in old GCSE format) in English and Maths will be given preference on places within the Academy. NOTE: Only courses held at the St. Albans Campus can be potentially supported. 1 THE FOOTBALL Team Structure We have a total of five teams (3 Men s, 2 Ladies), and each squad runs with a maximum of 25 players. Games take place on a Wednesday afternoon, and our Elite squads play in the highest level of College football. Residential Options We are able to offer a number of onsite accommodation opportunities. Allocation is based on a scoring system where student s applications are scored based on their academy position, academic reference, and personal circumstances. 4 EDUCATIONAL (16-19 YRS) 3 THE FEES We have two fees. Both are an annual requirement for a place within our Education Academy, and both are non-refundable once you have confirmed your place. KIT FEE Cost: TBC As a member of The EDSV Academy, you will be expected to travel & train in official EDSV apparel. In partnership with Nike, you will be supplied all the kit required for the training element for the season; as well as additional extras you may wish to purchase. NOTE: The college MAY be able to assist with this payment if household income is below the required amount. Documented evidence will be required for this bursary. MEDICAL FEE Ladies: 200 Men s: 300 All students on our programme will benefit from a thorough rehab department. Students accepted in to The EDSV Academy will be provided with a therapy clinic at each training session & fixture and our staff will treat & rehab any injuries that you may pick up playing/ training for us or your other teams. NOTE: The College WILL NOT assist with this fee and there is no bursary available for it. THE APPLICATION This is the simple part. All you are required to do is complete the online application form on our website. We will then be in touch for further details. THE TRIAL DATES... ELITE TRIALS NEW to the Academy this year!! Due to our success and popularity over the previous few seasons, we will be holding special trial sessions for a select few. Requirements: Men must have been released from a professional academy within the last three seasons. NOTE: A playing CV and references from those clubs for us to contact must be provided. DATES: WEDNESDAY 4th APRIL Spaces Available: 16 places. OPEN TRIALS Requirements: No minimum playing background required; however, you must apply through our website. We do not allow people to show up on the day. LADIES DATES: THURSDAY 15th FEBRUARY, THURSDAY 5th APRIL and THURSDAY 31st MAY MEN S DATES: TUESDAY 13th FEBRUARY, TUESDAY 3rd APRIL and TUESDAY 29th MAY Spaces Available: Each ladies trial has 32 spaces available, whilst the men s trials have 64 spaces available at each. NOTE: Numbers at trials are restricted. We work on a first come, first served basis.

Our only request is that you make yourself available for training and midweek college fixtures, nothing else. If you wish to continue playing for your current teams, then we have no issues with this. Can I be a part of The EDSV Academy but stay at my current school? No. You must study a full-time course at Oaklands College that suits our training provision. Am I guaranteed games if I join? We guarantee an extensive training programme where our best students play. Team selections are based on both academic and football performance, so games aren t guaranteed. 4
