We are a FA Charter Standard Club with an emphasis on Football for All and player development regardless of ability for both boys and girls. However we ensure that all players play at a level to match their ability. We also have strict club policies: Code of Conduct Child Protection Safeguarding Children Anti-bullying Equality & Anti-Racism 2
OUR APPROACH Player development is central to our approach with an emphasis on technical development in the belief that if you focus on this then everything else will fall into place. For those who show the potential to progress and play at a higher level, we have an established and successful pathway into the professional game. 3
Uplands Rangers Football Club Club Brochure INTRODUCING THE TEAMS We operate teams from U7 through to U16 with a player/coach ratio of 8:1. The same as a Category A, Professional Club Academy. We also accept both boys and girls from the age of 5 who begin with our Little Rangers Development Squad (LRDS). They are coached by Mark Hunter who is a UEFA B West Ham United Academy Coach. 4
PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (PDP) This is operated in conjunction with Pro-Academy and Mark Hunter, a UEFA B West Ham United Academy Coach. We started the Programme in 2011 and since then 23 players have progressed to train and play at a higher level. 2 of these have been signed by Ipswich Town and Southend United respectively. 5
Uplands Rangers Football Club Club Brochure GOALKEEPER TRAINING Part of our PDP Programme also includes weekly dedicated coaching sessions for all our Keepers. Since the introduction of these sessions one has moved onto play for Pro-Academy and another has recently progressed into the FITC Academy. 6
