1 Riptide Rage Player Contract Commitment: Georgina Riptide Volleyball Club Association Inc., Rage Player/Parent Contract Indoor Season 2018/2019 As a Riptide Rage player I,, promise to abide by the following Code of (print player name) Conduct, Expectations, and Commitments listed below: 1.0 Attendance: 1.1) Attend each and every training session, tournament, and team event. 1.2) Arrive early and promptly to all of my practices, games, and team activities. Penalties for being late will be at the Coaches discretion. For example, shagging balls for half of the practice. 1.3) Sign myself in on the attendance sheet before each practice. 1.4) Any Rage player who misses practice/fitness without a valid reason will automatically result in less game time during tournaments. 1.5) Any Rage player who misses two consecutive tournaments or three consecutive practices without notification and/or valid reason, may be removed from a team, without refund. 2.0 Nutrition and Fitness: 2.1) All RAGE players are responsible for the compulsory completion of an independent conditioning program. Failure to do so will directly affect your on court time in tournaments. 2.2) All Rage players are responsible for attending all fitness sessions and arriving on time. Failure to comply with these standards will result in disciplinary action. 3.0 Dress Code and Uniforms: 3.1) Be prepared with the appropriate and assigned uniform for all practices and tournaments. (i.e., jersey, shorts, socks, jacket, pants, shoes, player bag, water bottle, practice jersey, knee pads, etc.) 3.2.) Players who are not wearing the proper practice uniform will be consequenced at the Coaches discretion. For example, sitting for the duration of practice, shagging balls for half the practice, etc. 3.3) Players who are not wearing a full uniform at a Tournament will be benched and will not play. 4.0 Player Sickness and/or Injury: 4.1) If a player is sick (non-contagious) and/or injured, that player is still expected to come to practice/tournaments to learn and help the team in any way possible. A player who has been injured can only resume play with medical clearance by a doctor, as indicated in a signed doctor s note. 4.2) Any player who is contagious will stay home. 5.0 Player Code of Conduct, Expectations and Commitment: 5.1) Treat my fellow teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, parents, and spectators, with dignity, respect, and good sportsmanship. 5.2) Bring a positive hard working attitude to every practice and game.

2 5.3) Follow the instructions of Coaches during drills and respect the rules during games. 5.4) Respect the facilities and equipment by helping set up and take down. 5.5) Teams are responsible for replacing any stolen/lost/damaged equipment. 5.6) Bring a refillable water bottle to practice. 5.7) No cell phone use during practice, including during water breaks. (Players can use only in the case of emergency). 5.8) Leave all personal belongings (cell phones, jewellery, etc.) in your own gym bag at the side of the courts. (The Club is not responsible for lost or stolen items). 5.9) Being a Rage player is your first priority next only to attending school. Players will be organized and manage their time properly so that homework, jobs, school events, and/or school teams do not interfere with your attendance to Rage practices and tournaments. 5.10) Players will not use any type of social media to post or say anything directly/indirectly negative about their teammates, their teammates parents, their Coaching staff, and/or the Club/Executive. 5.11) As a Rage player, I will respectfully represent Riptide Volleyball during practices, games, and all other associated events. 6.0 Parents Code of Conduct, Expectations, and Commitment: 6.1) As a Coach to rep athletes, I appreciate your dedication and know what it takes to get your child to and from their practices and matches. Please know that the following rule stands for the season and does not minimize your expressed commitment to support your child. There will be no parent coaching or comments to be had to the athletes during practices and tournaments. The only acceptable sports comments are cheers or nice tries. Volleyball is a sport that develops team work, critical thinking, and emotional fortitude if the right environment is provided for young athletes. Criticism, parental coaching, or feedback as it relates to performance are not tolerated by me as a coach, and I expect the same level of respect to the athletes at tournaments. I will ask parents not to attend open practices or sit too closely at tournaments if they cannot adhere to these rules. 6.2) Good sportsmanship is always a top priority. Respect all athletes, Coaches, Officials, and spectators at all times. 6.3) Parents will not use any behaviour which might distract players or interfere with the progress of a practice/match. 6.4) Be polite and courteous as a spectator, and use appropriate language only. 6.5) At tournaments, parents may not speak to or approach players/coaches once warm-ups have begun, between sets, or immediately following the end of a match as this is the time for players to be focused on the game and/or for Coaches to provide feedback to players. 6.6) Parents and/or fans will sit in the appropriate seating areas unless otherwise directed by the Official and/or the Head Coach for specific game duties such as lining or scorekeeping. 6.7) Parents are responsible to provide and coordinate punctual transportation to and from practices and tournaments. If a player is to miss a practice, they are to have a legitimate reason and are to give sufficient notice. (4+ hours before a practice.) Missing a tournament would require 2 weeks notice and a legitimate reason. Having too much homework or going out to an event, such as a concert, for example, is not a reasonable and valid excuse to miss a practice or tournament.

3 6.8) Any player, who misses two consecutive tournaments or three consecutive practices without notification and/or valid reason, may be removed from a team, without refund. The Head Coach must advise the Executive who will review the circumstances and recommend a course of action. 7.0 Nutrition and Conditioning: 7.1) All Parents will support their children with proper nutrition as outlined by the compulsory team nutrition plan set up by the Trainer. 7.2) All Coaches/Trainers will support players in regards to the compulsory completion of an independent conditioning program. 7.3) All team nutrition plans can be found on the Club website or on Team Snap. 8.0 Lining and Scorekeeping Responsibilities: 8.1) Parents must learn how to line with the use of a flag, as well as how to score keep using the official OVA score sheet. 8.2) All parents must perform assigned lining and scorekeeping duties as per the tournament schedule. A $75 fine will be given to the Club by the OVA for anyone not fulfilling these duties. The parent(s) who did not perform their assigned duty will be responsible for paying the $75 fine. 9.0 Club Communication Protocol: 9.1) Parents who wish to speak to the coaching staff regarding any open-ended questions must request a meeting time with the Coaching Staff and a member of the Executive. (i.e. Why did Jane sit during the third set? ). Parents will use non-derogatory language, free of insinuations and/or allegations. 9.2) Texting/ ing the coaching staff about any close-ended questions is permitted (i.e. What time does Thursday s practice start? ) 9.3) Executive Members/Coaches/Trainers will not respond to argumentative s and/or texts, and will enforce the 24 hour rule. In-person communication, not s or texting, is the only form of communication allowed to solve any and all disputes Injury and Medical Clearance: 10.1) If a player is sick (non-contagious) and or injured, that player is still expected to come to practice/tournaments to learn and help the team in any way possible. Parents are expected to give full disclosure to the Coaching Staff, and the Club Executive about all player injuries. 10.2) A player who is contagious may stay home. 10.3) Coaches will consider the athletes' future health and well being as foremost when making decisions regarding an injured athletes' ability to continue playing or training. 10.4) Parents, Coaches, teammates, and any other non-trained and/or non certified personnel will not massage, tape and/or manipulate limbs or the back of another child. If a player is suffering from an injury, a Doctor, Physiotherapist, and/or Chiropractor should be visited Attendance: 11.1) Please contact the Coach/Trainer of the missed session directly regarding any issues, questions or reported absences. Example, if you are going to be absent for a team conditioning session, the Conditioning Coach must be contacted directly, not the Team Coach.

4 11.2) Parents/Players who do not contact anyone, i.e., Coach, Trainer, and/or Club, the absence will be marked down as a No Show. No Shows will be consequenced at the Coaches discretion Parent, Team, and/or Club Meetings: 12.1) Any parent requested meetings with an Executive Member/Coach will be at the Member s/coach s discretion of choosing the time and location. If an Executive Member is not present at any team meeting, the Head or Assistant Coach will report the details of the meeting back to the Executive. 12.2) Parents must attend mandatory meetings and are highly encouraged to attend optional meetings so that the lines of team communication remain clear and open RAGE Player Costs, Payment Schedule, and Late Fees: 13.1) All selected players that play for the Riptide Rage must adhere to the payment schedule and be paid in full. Only under special circumstances and a meeting with the Executive, will a player be granted extra time to pay their owed player fees. 13.2) A late fee of $20 per week will apply until payment is received. Suspension of play will be enforced after 4 weeks of no payment being received. 13.3) There will be no pro-rated rates for players who start at the beginning of the season in September. If players are added after the initial team selections, or quit at a later time, the original player s fees will remain the same. (Refer to Club Constitution and/or an Executive Member for more details). 13.4) Pro-rated fees will only be issued to new players who sign later in the season after the initial team selection. 13.5) Players who quit after starting with a team will receive no refund and must pay any remaining/future installments in full. 13.6) Any practices that are cancelled by the Coaching Staff will be rescheduled at a later date. 13.7) Fees will not be refunded in the event players and/or parents request to cancel practice due to a conflict with a booked team event. For example, booking a fundraising event on the same night as a practice. Any cancellations will require pre-approval by the Club Executive. 13.8) All player fees are non-negotiable Parent Committees and Volunteer Positions: 14.1) It is expected that parents will volunteer for one of the team s following committees and/or positions: Fundraising, Social, Tournament Director, Team Manager and Signing Officer. The duties of each position can be found on the Parent Volunteer form. 14.2) A Parent Volunteer is expected for the role of Team Manager for each Rage team. Team Managers will be approved by the Club Executive prior to each indoor season. Team Manager duties can be found on the Parent Volunteer Form Social Media: 15.1) Parents and players are only allowed to use social media tools (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, SnapChat, etc.) to praise, encourage, and share in the successes of players, the team, and the Club. 15.2) Parents and players are forbidden to use social media tools to post any negative comments, pictures, videos, etc. that directly or indirectly relate to players, parents, Coaches, volunteers, or the Club/Executive Members. Any form of cyber-bullying will not be tolerated, and sanctions will be imposed.

5 16.0 Continued Expectations: 16.1) Players signing with Riptide Volleyball are prohibited to train/practice/enter tournaments with other OVA affiliated Clubs from September to May as per OVA guidelines. Breaching this contract may come with consequences from the OVA. 16.2) As a parent, you are expected to adhere to the above standards of behaviour before, during and after any practice or competition. Failure to comply with the Riptide Volleyball Code of Conduct will result in disciplinary action by the Club Executive. 16.3) Any disciplinary action/penalties enforced against players/members by the Executive shall be respected. 16.4) Bullying Policy: Bullying will not be tolerated and may result in the immediate dismissal of the player pending an investigation by the Coaching Staff and Executive. Physical, verbal, social, or electronic bullying should be brought to the immediate attention of the Coaching Staff/Club, so they can resolve the issue.
