Treasurer s Report Motion made to approve the minutes of the NZIHF Management Committee Minutes of 17 August Kaisser presented his ed report. Biggest concern is money owing from 2016 NZU20 players. Canterbury: Some registration fees outstanding. Coaching course fees: Some outstanding. Auckland: Late registrations; new invoice done. Moved by Birgel. Seconded by Reid. Approved. Goodall to follow up. Tailon and Kaisser to discuss with AIHA. 1

2 Liam Henare: NZIHF is looking into process with Debt Collectors. Kaisser seeking board approval to move onto next steps. Henare is on a playing ban with Southern Ice Hockey. Reid has pursued unsuccessfully with Henare on numerous occasions. Carson-Pratt: Deposits needed to maintain eligibility for 2017 NZU20 s. IIHF Congress costs are increasing. MC in favour to take next steps with debt collectors. Reid will follow up with Carson- Pratt through Southern U20. To be looked into. Kaisser to send detailed report. ITC Cards: NZIHF are carrying costs into 2017 until the teams are invoiced. Matthews has created a budget template will present to the National Team managers at Saturday s meeting. 4. General Secretary Report Albright reported: NZIHL Season work has wrapped up. Completed ASPG #18 Meeting in Auckland. National Team planning is underway. Completed Officials Strategy for IIHF Long Term Development Programme. Hydra: Ongoing work. Simon Thompson has been trained as an Administrator for the U14, U17, U20 and NZWIHL Leagues. JA to remain with NZIHL. Current projects: 2017 World Championship Hosting in Auckland, IIHF Asian Strategic Planning Group Meeting. Training completed for website updates. Increase in website queries / s. 2

3 5. Funding a. Air New Zealand 6. NZIHL a. End of Season Meeting 7. National Ice Hockey a. AIHA Proposal for 2017 No funding resolutions to report. Air New Zealand Contract Proposal: Birgel summarized the Air NZ meeting in August. Proposal has been presented; Albright is going to preferred travel agents and gathering their proposals. Scott was not present to provide a report. Scheduled for 15 October 2016 at Commodore Hotel, Christchurch. Scott was not present to provide a report. Taillon reported that the AIHA have discussed 2017 NZPIHL and 2017 NZMIHL schedules. AIHA suggests that NZPIHL and NZMIHL begin in early May 2017, and no games scheduled between June & August (during NZIHL). NZPIHL and NZMIHL seasons resumed in September and October (at least for AIHA games). To much pressure with travel and scheduling when NZPIHL, NZMIHL and NZIHL are playing at the same time. Reid added that Southern generally do not have ice in their rinks until May; would put them at a disadvantage. Taillon agreed that it would be feasible to stage games in June-August when there are no NZIHL games scheduled in Auckland. A more detailed report will be provided once all travel agent proposals are received. remind Scott to season plans a week before the meeting. 4 8. International Ice Hockey a. Appointments b. Perry Wilson Proposal Matthews reported: Katie Goulding has been recommended by the recommendation committee to the position of Physiotherapist for a 2 year term. Moved by Matthews, seconded by Birgel. Christopher Eaden has been recommended by the recommendation committee to the position of NZU20 Strength & Conditioning for a 1 year term. Moved by Matthews, seconded by Reid. Costs would just be to attend the Auckland NZU20 Camp. Justin Daigle has been recommended by the recommendation committee to the position of Video & Statistics Coach for a 1 year term. Moved by Matthews, seconded by Birgel. Albright presented the 2017 Perry Wilson Proposal. All flights would amount to around $12,000. Discussion was had over the division of these costs among the National Teams and NZIHF (divided by 5). Kaisser explained the cost share proposal. Cost per team would be approximately $2,500. Katie Goulding has been appointed as Ice Fernz Physiotherapist, for a 2 year term. Christopher Eaden has been appointed as NZU20 Strength & Conditioning Coach, for a 1 year term. Justin Daigle has been appointed as NZU20 Video & Statistics Coach, for a 1 year term. Kaisser to discuss with Ice Blacks. Matthews moved that the NZIHF pay $2,500 towards the proposal. Seconded by Goodall. All in favour. 4

5 c. NZU16 Development Programme d. NZIHF Uniform Policy e. NZU18W Game Jerseys f. NZU18: Second Kaisser also proposed that NZU16 s take on Perry. Matthews discussed that the NZU16 s need to plan for , since the SoO is done. NZU16 s have also taken U17 players for their camp ignored the directive from the NZIHF. Birgel added that Ice Hockey Australia is keen to sanction a tour involving the NZU16 s. NZIHF will look closely to the appointments for Kaisser raised that NZU16 did not use billeting consent forms, and players are travelling on flight tickets that are not under their name. The NZIHF cannot support this. Albright summarized issue regarding Ice Blacks / Ice Fernz branded merchandise for sale to the public. Matthews suggested that we just sell Ice Blacks & Ice Fernz gear. Albright moved that the Ice Fernz and Ice Blacks be included in the merchandise sales. Seconded by Matthews. Voting: 3 to 1 in favour. Albright indicated the need for the NZU18W for game jerseys for the 2017 CCOA. Kyle suggested that the NZIHF / NZU18W apply for funding. Motion made by Matthews that the NZIHF will underwrite the costs, but NZU18W will have to seek funding first. Senior Players Albright reported that there is no further discussion on the Senior Players portfolio. discuss with Senior Players regarding 3 rounds (8 extra games). 10. Women s Ice Hockey Portfolio NZWIHL a. Global Girls Game 11. General Business a. National Skills Development Programme b IIHF WMU20III Tournament Update (KM) Albright indicated that the Global Girls Game is scheduled for 8-9 October 2016 in Auckland and Gore. Funding applications were successful with Auckland Council. Give a Go Day: 20 registered. Global Girls Game: 20+ registered. Kaisser summarized the U14 Competition. One issue is the lack of communication among the regions. Matthews reported that the tournament has grown to an 8 team tournament (2 pools) after Semi-Annual Congress. Funding from IIHF increases to $265,000 USD. Accommodation has been sorted at the University Residences (St. Margaret s). Budget is about the same. More volunteers will be needed. Birgel asked Matthews to arrange for a vehicle and hotel for Elizabeth & Grant Hay discuss with Philippa Kaisser to coordinate game with Gore. discuss further with Grant Hay with regards to 2017 competition. 6

7 c IIHF WMIIB Tournament Update (JA) d IIHF Semi-Annual Congress e IIHF Annual Congress, ASPG #19 & Coach Symposium f. U14 Tournament in Adelaide, AUS (November 2016) to cater to Tournament Chairman and Wife. Albright reported that all groundwork has been completed. Teams have been informed of the Tournament Arrangements. Marketing now begins. Birgel summarized his report of the congress. Some changes to the Women s Tournament. Tournament presentations went well. Birgel raised issue about equality in Men s and Women s tournament support. Trans Tasman Champions League: Birgel has been in contact with the AIHL. Awaiting reply. Would happen during Winter Games in Birgel announced that the 2017 events are in Cologne, Germany. Albright summarized the costs, and proposed that Kaisser and Albright attend the IIHF Coach Symposium. Albright moved that Albright attend the ASPG, Congress & Coach Symposium, and Kaisser attends the Coach Symposium. Albright seeking to book as soon as possible to take advantage of the cheap fares. Albright spoke of the query regarding the Ice Blacks logo. Albright made delegates aware of this tournament. Taillon asked if this is procedure is customary for the NZIHF. meet with Goodall and Howard Whitman in the next few weeks in Christchurch. Birgel to discuss the budgets and IIHF payment schedules. Birgel to write IIHF to support equality. Albright moved that Kaisser and Albright attend, with costs up to $6000. Seconded by Goodall. Approved. 7

IIHF Officials Course, MAS (19-23 October 2016) i Annual General Meeting Notice: February 2017 Birgel & Albright replied that sanctioning will be provided; NZIHF just needs to be aware (through their delegates) of tournaments such as this. Birgel discussed the ice hockey inline hockey relationship. Haxell proposed that the NZIHF sends Jerome Raateland to the course. NZIHF will request a report following the course, and will follow up through the Officials Strategy. Albright announced to the delegates the 2017 Annual General Meeting: February 2017 in Christchurch. Has been posted on the NZIHF website. Details to delegates to follow.
