Taken from History of Saltwells Local Nature Reserve: the woodland is one of the finest Bluebell woods in the country: other plants include Ramsons (Wild Garlic), Wood Anemone, Sweet Woodruff and Yellow Archangel After, optional drink at The Saltwells Inn. 2 hours Discretionary Donation Wardens Margaret 2 2 MEET: Saltwells Local Nature Reserve, off Coppice Lane, Quarry Bank, Dudley, DY5 1AX Thursday - 19th May am start - SEVERN VALLEY COUNTRY PARK WALK A walk along a stretch of the Severn Valley, starting from the country park car park (Alveley) and taking in Hampton Loade SVR station. In addition to the usual mix of scenery and wildlife, the date has been chosen to coincide with the first day of the Severn Valley Railways spring diesel festival; a day when the line should be busy and with a variety of trains running. Some advance details of the event can also be found on the railways own website: If the weather permits we will take a lunch break on the move. Bring food and drink of your choosing. Each walk will take approximately 45 min s to 1hour and include refreshments afterwards back at the Activity Centre. The walks will be for all abilities and be led by Park Activators who look to use varying routes within and around the Netherton Area. NOTES - for all walks All you need is appropriate clothing/footwear and a drink. Please ensure dogs are kept under control and do not get under walkers feet.
