It is important that you speak to your children about: 1. Following all posted rules and regulations 2. Respecting others who are also enjoying the amenities. 3. Being respectful of clubhouse staff 4. Respecting the amenities that are paid for by homeowners fees. 5. Not climbing on clubhouse property that is not meant for climbing on. 6. No littering 7. No profanity, especially when there are young families around. 8. Avoid any confrontation and report any incidences to staff or HCSO if it is an incident that is serious and needs immediate attention. This area is for all residents to enjoy, let s keep it a positive, fun and safe place for children to play. 3 Proper Yard Waste Disposal REPUBLIC SERVICES Simply call them at Ask for a recycle basket or use a plastic storage container. Pick up day is Wednesday There has been a large increase of tree and shrub trimmings being dumped on either an empty lot or CDD property. This IS NOT the proper way to dispose of yard waste. Republic/Seaside Sanitation has a process in place for picking up yard waste and it should be followed to avoid getting a violation letter. Here is the guideline: Pick up in Spring Ridge is EVERY WEDNESDAY. Yard waste has a 12 item limit Each item may consist of a bundle, a bag or a waste receptacle Each item may not weigh more than 50 lbs. Branches and or limbs must be tied up Branches and or limbs may not be longer than 4 Feet and no more than 4 inches in diameter They do not pick up gravel, dirt or tree stumps Residents cannot mix yard waste with garbage Bulk trash pick-up or items such as furniture should be arranged for a special pick up by contacting Republic at the number below All residents need to separate their yard waste from their garbage. Residents cannot mix yard waste with garbage. Florida Statue amended by HB 569 of the 2010 Legislature does not allow yard waste to be mixed together with garbage and placed into the landfill. If you have followed the above guideline and your yard waste was not picked up; immediately contact Republic Services at BULK WASTE PICK UP To schedule the pick-up of a large item that cannot be placed in a garbage container because of its size/ volume/shape/weight (i.e. sofas, tables, fixtures, furniture, ladders, carpet, etc.) Contact Republic Services at (727) and request to schedule a bulk waste pickup. Republic Services will pick-up all bulk waste within 72 hours, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays a maximum of four (4) pickups per year. One bulk item per pickup at no charge
4 Off-Leash Dogs An off-leash dog in the community is not only a danger to other dogs but people as well. Spring Ridge is frequented with residents riding their bicycles, jogging, going for walks with small children, or walking their own dog, all of whom are in danger when dogs run uncontrolled. The Oh he s friendly claim is not only irrelevant but also a myth. The lawbreaker s attitude seems to be that they and their dogs welfare are more important than that of others. No dog owner can accurately predict 100% of the time how her dog will react when greeting another dog. Remember 1. It s the law and a community rule. 2. When your dog is on a leash; he s less likely to get into something he s not supposed to. 3. Just because your dog is friendly doesn t mean every dog is friendly. 4. Not everyone you meet is physically able to withstand a dog jumping on them, even a nice dog. 5. People have the right to walk in the community without being confronted by loose dogs. Remember the community rules: ALL PETS SHALL be confined on a leash, held by and under the physical control of a responsible person at all times when they are outside of their property in the community. Loose animals should be reported to Hernando County Animal Control at Pet Waste Dangers Uncollected pet waste is more than an unattractive addition to the landscape. Dog poop left on the street or lawn does not just go away or fertilize the grass. The bacteria in dog waste are often washed down storm drains which could pollute our waterways. If digested, it can cause gastrointestinal disease, parasites and other problems such as skin rash. A little pet poop goes a long way; a day s waste from one large dog can contain 7.8 billion of fecal coliform bacteria. The Center of Disease Control (CDC) recently published figures showing that roundworms infect 10,000 people in the U.S. and cause 700 children to permanently lose their eyesight each year. Roundworm eggs are shed exclusively in feces and are found almost exclusively in areas contaminated by dog feces. Don t forget the community guideline: PET OWNERS SHALL pick up after their pets in the community and appropriately dispose of such waste in trash receptacle. ANY DOGS TIED UP TO A TREE LOCATED ON CDD PROPERTY WILL BE REPORTED TO ANIMAL CONTROL. 4
5 Fitness Room NO ONE SHOULD BE USING THE FITNESS EQUIPMENT WEARING A BATHING SUIT, FLIP FLOPS, OR ANY TYPE OF POOL ATTIRE. NO MATTER WET OR DRY, BATHING SUITS ARE NOT CONSIDERED APPROPIATE WORKOUT ATTIRE. Parking Residents automobiles shall be parked in the garage or driveway. Vehicles may be parked in the street only a non-recurring and temporary basis and should not be parked on an overnight basis. Street parking can create a dangerous situation for the community if Emergency Vehicles (fire, ambulance) cannot navigate the streets. Vehicles may not block the sidewalk. Trash Can Garbage cans may be placed at the front of the home after 6 pm on the day before the scheduled day of collection and must be removed from the home by 9 pm on the scheduled day of collection. At all other times, garbage containers must be stored and screened from view. Acceptable screens will include landscape and fencing. ARC approval is needed prior to installation. Garbage containers must be kept clean and sanitary condition to prevent noxious or offensive odors. Trash cans must have a lid. Mailbox up Keep Mailbox maintenance is the homeowner/resident responsibility. This includes replacing broken mailboxes, missing numbers, and cleaning mailboxes of mold, spider webs, etc. Failure to keep up with the maintenance of your mailbox may result in an HOA Violation. To replace the plastic mailbox; similar ones can be found on-line for about $15-20 dollars. Don t forget to purchase new address numbers too. If you need to replace the SR Logo, posts, caps, numbers, or other hardware please contact: Creative Mailbox and Sign Designs Located at 300 Mears Blvd. Oldsmar, FL
