1 Ebbw Vale 1 7 July 2012 The General Offices Sunday 1 July Ghost Parade, Stefhan Caddick Adain Avion: mobile art space, social sculpture and travelling time capsule. Adain Avion is part of the UK-wide London 2012 Festival and is Wales major contribution to the Cultural Olympiad, the largest cultural celebration in the history of the modern Olympic and Paralympic Movements. The transformed fuselage of a DC09 aeroplane will migrate across Wales igniting the imagination with an exciting collection of cultural and sporting activity curated by Welsh artist Marc Rees. Over three weeks Adain Avion visits Swansea, Ebbw Vale and Llandudno presenting over 150 different events before ending its journey at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in Llandow, Vale of Glamorgan. Finally the fuselage will visit the National History Museum at St Fagans, Cardiff where the contemporary folk archive of all activities will be deposited via Adain Avion s black box. As dusk falls, local groups gather to celebrate a decade of transition. With mass participation, outdoor projections, archival imagery and music played by Ebbw Valley Brass, Ghost Parade, which is part carnival and part surreal protest will mark the 10th anniversary of the closure of the works and the arrival of Adain Avion in Ebbw Vale. 2 Made by hand, A performance installation that stitches together the natural gestures, threads of stories and shared experiences gathered from quilt making groups working close to the Adain Avion site, offering an insight into the relationships between the quilters, the industry and the landscape in and around Ebbw Vale. Get Involved An opportunity for everyone to gather memories or pack up some images, and stow them in a virtual suitcase in the Adain Avion Archive. Whether you re a group, a family, friends, a school, a college or an individual you can deposit your ideas in the hold for others to see. 3 Tuesday 3 July Janire Najera Zumba class I Beaufort Ballroom Tea Dance T Tanja Råman, Ballet Cymru and Ebbw Vale Male Voice Choir Terminal Velocity, Citrus Arts Citrus Arts and Valleys Gymnastics Academy present a reimagining of the regular Gymnastics and Free Running displays by creating a performance drawing on the familiar hustle and bustle of airport life. Young DJ's will provide the soundtrack, mixing from inside the plane following workshops led by Ebbw Vale Youth Services.
