3 GREETING On behalf of the Board of Directors of Waterford Babe Ruth League, I would like to congratulate and welcome all the District Champions and at large selections to the Year Old Connecticut State Babe Ruth Tournament. This year s tournament will be held at the Waterford Babe Ruth Complex from July 18, 2014 through July 25, 2014 with a few games to be held at Veterans Field, the East Lyme Babe Ruth Complex roughly 3 miles away. We have a great tradition of baseball in our small seaside community of Waterford and we hope to share this tradition with the rest of the state of Connecticut's elite baseball programs. Our concession stand will be open throughout this tournament with great baseball type food available. Upon arriving to the field on your first game, please report to the press box to drop off your tournament booklet. We have tried to include all important information in this handout. 7 TOURNAMENT INFORMATION Games 1. All teams must bring $65.00 per game to pay for one umpire for each game participated in. Checks payable to Waterford Babe Ruth League. If you have cash, give to the Waterford Babe Ruth President or Site Director. Also each team is to bring a check for $150 participation fee made out to Waterford Babe Ruth League and hand in when you turn your booklet in 2. Team occupying the third base dugout may have a 20 minute batting cage session 70 minutes prior to game time 3. Team occupying the first base dugout may have a 20 minute batting cage session 50 minutes prior to game time 4. Team in the third base dugout will take inf/out practice 30 minutes prior to game time. Team in first base dugout will follow with their in/out. Infield/outfield should not last longer than 10 minutes. We would like both teams off the field 10 minutes prior to game time for managers meeting with umpires, introduction of both teams and national anthem. General 1. Assume all games will be played with regards to weather. Someone from the tournament committee will contact each manager as to cancellation. If you do not hear from us, the games are on 2. Batting cage is available when not in use prior to games. Please reserve with Waterford Babe Ruth President or Site Director 3. Each team must have one representative for the protest committee for each of their games. This person cannot be a member of the team coaching staff. Please present this person s name to the official scorer 30 minutes prior to the start of the game along with your official lineup 4. Any player, coach or fan who displays poor sportsmanship and behavior will be subject to removal from the complex. Refusal to leave the complex could result in an arrest 5. The soccer field beyond the outfield at the Waterford field can be used for stretching and throwing on Saturday and Sunday while a game is in progress. No batting practice on soccer field. If a soccer team is using the field you cannot use it.

Each team shall pay the host $150 entry fee. 4) The State will provide tournament grade baseballs for all games. 5) Awards for Championship team only will be provided by the State. 6) Team listed in the first column will occupy the 1 st base dugout. For the playoffs #1 team will. 7) Team listed in the second column shall take infield practice first, for 10 minutes, 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. For the playoffs #2 team will start first as stated above. 8) For the Championship Game, top seed will occupy the 1 st base dugout.
