From noon onwards, thousands of sporty cycling urists from Belgium and abroad will be crossing the finish line. Why not wait for your partner at the finish line and, in the meantime, enjoy what Oudenaarde has offer in the form of shopping or a snack and a drink at one of the welcoming pavement cafés in Oudenaarde s Market Square? 2

3 Saturday 6 April TOUR OF FLANDERS FOR families 9.00 a.m a.m. start TOUR OF FLANDERS FOR FAMILIES Market Square To ensure everyone can enjoy the unique cycling vibe from up close, this year, Pelon will once again be organising The Tour of Flanders for families on Saturday 6 April. This bike ur is tailored families, in particular. Participants start from Oudenaarde for a ur of approx. 18K along a flat and safe route. The last 4K are about finishing the last stretch of the famous Tour. This is an ideal setting for the perfect family activity. Afterwards, they can soak up the atmosphere and entertainment laid on at the Market Square p.m p.m a.m p.m. Studio Brussel at Droesbekeplein Just like last year, Studio Brussel will once again be setting up shop on Droesbekeplein. The race will be covered live by Studio Brussel from 1.00 p.m. and can be watched on TV (channel één), on Saturday 6 April from 2.00 p.m p.m. Save the date! Entertainment Market Square p.m p.m. The children can indulge themselves on the bouncy castles, have their bikes pimped or ride around on crazy bikes. Alongside this, DJ Monsieur and Speaker Steve host a real kids party (11.00 a.m p.m.). The partying continues in the afternoon and early evening (1.30 p.m p.m.). Before and after the presentation of the elite women s team, why not get carried away and dance Monsieur s beats, get yourself immortalised as a real professional winner on the podium or enjoy the general hubbub, where Speaker Steve throws in the odd funny note? Presentation Elite Women s teams All women s teams who ride the 16th Tour of Flanders for Elite Ladies on Sunday will - under musical accompaniment - be presented on the podium at the market on Saturday afternoon. Not only the riders, but also the public will make the race memorable: watch the riders from the front row in the Public Village, near the finish line of Flanders finest race. From 1.00 p.m., after the men have passed the Market Square, the attractive Public Village opens its doors. Once again, it s an area with plenty of activities on offer with drinks and dining stands, children s entertainment, ilet facilities, a covered star shade and much more. That is also where you ll find the largest screen that is used during the Tour of Flanders. If that wasn t enough, Studio Brussel will up sticks from the Droesbekeplein the Public Village on Sunday. Good vibes guaranteed! Oudenaarde captivated by the Tour For the eighth year in a row, Oudenaarde is the proud arrival city of Vlaanderens Mooiste (Flanders finest race), the Tour of Flanders. Winners Tom Boonen (2012), Fabian Cancellara (2013 and 2014), Alexander Krisff (2015), Peter Sagan (2016), Philippe Gilbert (2017) and Niki Terpstra (2018) bring tal joy the city and its surroundings. We are looking forward a well-organised event and another heroic battle! Youth zone In the youth zone, you can also follow the race live on a big screen, thanks an initiative of the youth clubs KSA Oudenaarde and Canavia, in cooperation with the Oudenaarde youth service. This area is also equipped with a drinks and food stand. After the race, a DJ will close the evening here, which is guaranteed be a celebration! Everyone is welcome, especially the youngsters! 6 The Tour in Oudenaarde 2019 Centre MOBILITY The Market Square will only be accessible pedestrians and cyclists on Saturday and Sunday. Parking will be provided in the Meersbloem industrial zone, from where, via the bridge over the river Scheldt, you can easily reach the city centre on foot. We would like invite car drivers use the designated shuttle car parks. Moreover, there will also be sufficient bicycle parking available, not least keep the weekend s cycling theme. Oudenaarde will also be accessible by public transport. The NMBS/ SNCB will lay on extra trains on Sunday at reduced rates.
