1 Goodyear Ski Club SKI NEWS June, 2018 President s Report Hello, Members! I know that everyone is thinking summer, but Linda Slicker, Betty Wise and I attended the Cleveland Ski Travel Show. We checked out several different ski resorts for next year s ski season. We should have some really good choices that we will be deciding on in June with the Trip Committee. We have some fun activities planned for this summer: a kayaking trip, a bike ride, the GSC family picnic, a RubberDucks baseball game, and also the golf scramble. Let s try and make it to these events! Rick Beagle Trip Officer s Report I am continuing the work Jim started in gathering bids. The officers will meet June 12 to finalize the trips for next ski season. Options might be Snowmass, Park City, Mt. Bachelor, and Keystone. I got a proposal for Big Sky, but it was quite expensive using the Big Horn Condos. I would not recommend that for our club. I am wondering if GSC would be interested in a two-day trip to Wisp. We have not been there in a long time. I am planning on the Holiday Valley / Holimont trip for February Linda Slicker Contents President s Report Trip Officer s Report Marketing Report Announcements Contact Information Into the Woods Summer Wine Social Summer Bike Ride Kayak & Canoe Trip RubberDucks Game GSC Family Picnic Volunteer Dinner Membership Application Event Calendar We will not have any GSC business meetings during June and July. Contact Suzanne Nappi at Summer Social at Sarah s Vineyard Join Judy and Warren Ripple for a lovely summer evening in Sarah s Pavilion. We are gathering on Wednesday, instead of Tuesday, as Blossom has a big concert on Tuesday. Enjoy Double Trouble, their first new wine in four years, named for the vineyard s dogs. It is a dry, fruity white wine made from Vidal and Traminette grapes, with a label created by Akron Artist Chuck Ayers. Or try one of their other wines or beers to go along with a homemade wood-fired pizza or one of their casual dining specialties W. Steels Corners Rd, Cuyahoga Falls Wednesday, June 13 at 6:00 PM The Pavilion is first come, first served, but last year we had no problem sitting together. Sarah s Vineyard is located at 1204 W. The bike trail goes through Silver Lake, with hills, road crossings, some road riding and a bit of sidewalk riding. It s a real biking adventure but at a pace that will leave no one behind.
