1 Vol. 5 Issue 1 October 12, 2018 E D I T O R M A R I A, I S A B E L T i p t o n s f i r s t p e p r a l l y B y : J o s u e P., v i c t o r, O s c a r Did you ever expect for Tipton to have a PEP rally? Well if you didn t I bet you were shocked on August 10th when the teachers surprised the students with the fun and exciting performances. Held in the new Multi-purpose building. There were many acts such as The Baby Shark act with Mrs. Diaz, Mrs. Richmond, Mrs. Lowry, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Medina, Mrs. Hatfield, Mrs. Kelly, Mrs. Bickers, Mrs. Heinks, and Mrs. Andrade. The pep rally was a new thing for Tipton Elementary School. Many students thought the performances were really fun and entertaining. Some students stated that their favorite act was the baby shark act. Osvaldo Rodriguez was asked, who did the floss the best Mrs. Burrell or Mrs Magaña? His response was, Burrell...I guess Some students were asked if they enjoyed the pep rally and they said that they did. According to Mr. Muños, So, we held the pep rally the first week of school in order to get everyone in our new multi-purpose room at the same time, and give everything sort of a trial run Also to get everyone excited about being here the first week of school, and having this new facility, and just being here at Tipton. We infer that the PEP Rally was really fun and entertaining based on what we heard from the students we interviewed. F i r s t g a m e a t t i p t o n s c h o o l B y S a n t i a g o The game on August 24, against Sunnyside. The game started on the defense line. Tipton was starting off strong. Soon Cesar made an interception. After the good play it looked like a pass to Landon, but instead he ran it, and made the touchdown. Then Genaro D. got a pass that was going to Fernando S. he ran it in, in a few minutes Angel Vallejo got a pass in the end zone, the game ended 30 to 0 Tipton won! The game on August 31, with Pixley they score the first touchdown, we were scared, but we didn t stop. Eyan A. score the first touchdown for us,and it didn t stop Jose V. score his 2nd touchdown for the season, we won Game 3 Sundale on Sept. 7, was a very good game, we beat Sundale 20-8 because Jose V. score 3 touchdowns. That was the hardest game, it took us 17 years to beat Sundale, according to Mr. Starling. He told us that the game was very good. We should do very well in the tournament. On Sept. 24, we played Pixley. Before the game the players were afraid of the holes. When the game started, Pixley scored a touchdown. The time passed, then a punt went to Victor G., he got it and ran it all the way to a touchdown. We made the extra point, Pixley didn t and that made a big difference. Soon Landon A. scored a touchdown, and again we scored the extra point. At the end Pixley score a touchdown and a extra point. At last the game ended with another win for us!

The big things that have been added in Fortnite Battle Royale are rifts and atk (golf carts) and the Season 5 battle pass which comes with skins like Drift, Ragnarok, and Redline. Skins are cosmetics that are used to change your appearance in the game. The rifts in the game look like a circle with cracks, when you walk through it you teleport into the air so you could move around the map as quick as possible. The atks are vehicles that allow you to drive from location to location, and is a much better method of transport then walking/ running. The season 5 battle pass has a lot of cool things like skins, gliders, pickaxe, and contrails. New locations have also been added. For example a whole new biome has been added, the desert biome is one of the biggest (in size) things that have been added in Fortnite Battle Royale. This biome holds locations like paradise palms. Also a location called Lazy Links which is a golf place. Lazy Links replaced Anarchy Acres and Paradise Palms replaced Moisty Mire. The world online is going crazy with the game Pub G, here is why the online world is loving Pub G. First of all, you may wonder what is Pub G? Well Pub G is a Battle Royale game with 100 players in the lobby and you have to try to survive and get that winner, winner chicken dinner. So what do you even do in Pub G? What you do is jump of a plane and you parachute to a W h a t i s p u b g a b o u t? B y L u i s a n d B r y a n little island or where ever you want to land at, you scavenge for guns and armor and many more items like heals. You can also drive vehicles in case you are far from a storm and you want to get out of the storm quicker or places, but while your trying to do that there is also a storm that will start to keep on closing in from the outside of the map and end up in a random spot in the island. You can also have your own clothing that you could buy with money or earn by playing games and earning battle points which are coins. M y e x p e r i e n c e a t t h e d a n c e B y A l e x i a a n d A s h l e y Some students that went to last years dance were asked what they thought about last years dance. Leslie Mendez exclaimed, Dancing with my friends and hanging out with them. Juan Cruz replied, I liked being with my friends and playing around with them. This is what students said about last years dance. Do you think this years dance will be better than last years dance? Evelyn Gonzalez expressed, Yes definitely because it is going to be the first dance in the gym. Our Vice President Stephanie Neri commented, What I liked about last years dance was I enjoyed dancing with my friends and just being with them. Now the 5th graders. How did you feel about going to your first dance? Miranda Loza explained I felt excited and nervous. Aaron Padilla exclaimed I felt nervous when I first arrived. What was your favorite part of the dance? Hesner Sosa explained I loved dancing and the breaks. On the other hand Brianna Rico exclaimed I loved the breaks, because of the delicious food.
3 Vol. 5 Issue 1 Page 3 C r a z y p e o p l e d r e s s i n g u p B y J o c e l y n Mrs. Lowry s kindergarten student Daniel said I like to dress want to dress up. My purpose is to make up blue on colors day. My mom school fun and get everyone involved. I makes me dress up on color also think school is boring and I want to days. I also like dressing up a make it more fun. I m also planning Superhero day in October and I also got sweat lot. I also like to dress up like a cop. Maria said I like dressing day, pajama day, I also have twin day, and up on colors day because it s red ribbon week. October 4-25th we have fun. My mom also made me the colors of Gray, Orange, White, and dress up on colors day. I also Black. like dressing up color pink. I like dressing up a lot because it feels very nice. Mrs. Gilbert said I want them to dress up differently and I also try to not pick hard ones because then no one will Sports day dress up on August 21 The first game for JV was doing well, but JV lost 12 to 0. Michael Alvarez, a TE said, I feel great, but kind of nervous, since the game was the next day. The day after the game vs Sunnyside Anthony had something to say about how he felt about the game against Sunnyside at first we were doing well, but after a while the team fell apart and well we have a lack of order and some of us don t know the plays. Meanwhile when we played against Pixley we lost 6 to 14 and Victor Martinez responded to the game I was pretty happy because that was the very first time we ever scored and then I had kind of an assist so I was very proud for Sebastian G a m e O n B y S a b a s t i o n Palomera to score a touchdown for our team. Our first home game here in Tipton we tied, then we scored a touchdown, but later on in the game the other team scored. Then we were losing, then we scored again, but we ended up losing the game. The person who was respectful during the game was Jose Pena. M u l t i m i l l i o n d o l l a r g y m B y S e a i n, C h r i s, a n d A n t h o n y The gym will be used for dance s, games, eating, talent shows, etc. Although we have only used it for the pep rally, eating, and game day. Fun fact the gym has special lights that will be used for the dance the lights are placed all around the gym and the lights will light up the dance floor. There is also a state of the art sound systems. All in all the gym costed a little under 6 million, so it lives up to the name multi million dollar gym. Nadeska and Everardo think that it is frustrating for students that we have such a nice gym but the p.e class, and the volleyball team can t use it for practice. We asked Mr. Munoz to answer this question and he stated that the time it takes to get to clean the gym floors, tables and then put them all away takes more time than we have before p.e. starts. We don t want to damage our new gym without it being taken care of properly. He also stated that the reason that the restrooms are not being used during lunch is because it is just not practical, it s not safe for the young ones because it is open to the lobby, but it is open during game days. The bathrooms can be used if necessary and another reason they are not used is because there is not enough supervision. During all special events they are being used. He feels like it is very cool to have a gym that the whole school can fit in like our pep rally and looks forward to the play being in the gym. In the future we may even have concerts. Mr. Munoz and Mrs. Be encourt cu ng the ribbon!
