Know the Code. It s your responsibility! 1. Always stay in control. 2. People ahead of you have the right of way. 3. Stop in a safe place for you and others. 4. Whenever starting downhill or merging, look uphill and yield. 5. Use devices to help prevent runaway equipment. 6. Observe signs and warning, and keep off closed trails. 7. Know how to use the lifts safely. 1

Lake Oswego Ski and Snowboard Swap 2015 Sale is on Saturday, October 10 th at Lake Oswego High School, 2501 Country Club Rd., Lake Oswego, OR east gym. The sale benefits the Lake Oswego and Lakeridge High School Ski Teams. Consign your items on Friday, October 9 th. 3 PACRAT Racing Thinking about racing? Now is the time to start conditioning to get back into skiing fiercely between those red and blue gates! Join a team for fun, racing and camaraderie! My Summer Vacation Skiyente members were asked to submit photos of their summer adventures and these are the following features! Diane Hicks visited pal Lucy in Denver for two days. Here they are sailing on a re savior. She had a wonderful time, although she wishes she was there in the winter! 3

4 Here is a picture from beautiful British Columbia! Wendy Morseth went on a boat trip for three weeks and was continually in a state of awe and wonder at the scenery and wildlife. She said it was a great escape and a reminder to live in the moment! Karen Frost took a month-long adventure starting in Glasgow, the old country as her mom and grandparents called it. Her goal was to meet with second cousins and then bike solo across Central Scotland. One downpour and two flat tires were her only challenges along the route from Helensburgh to Dunbar. Her adventure ended in Bristol, England with cousins that had hosted their three kids on their American odysseys. Karen enjoyed the rest of her tour of the English countryside in a lovely restored Bristol sedan. 4

5 Jenny Sunderland is pictured here swimming at Lake Coeur d Alene, ID with her Grandma Jean, who stopped skiing just a few years ago! She was on the synchronized swim team at Washington State University (it was Washington State College back then she says). GO COUGS! Our friend the deer were constantly feeding on the apple trees. Barb Pressentin-Parshall has been going on a few StayCations and is busy being a mom! Her son Andrew s Westside soccer team were State Champs this year and went to regionals in San Diego, CA and Boise, ID. Her daughter Kristina graduated from the University of Oregon (GO DUCKS) with a Bachelors degree in PR and Spanish. Barb said she got Kristina to move back to Portland just for her to leave again a month later to Seattle. 5

7 Save the Date! October 4 th is the Kick off for Skiyente s 60 th Anniversary Season Ladies Champagne Brunch beginning at 11 AM at Vintage 50 s Hotel DeLuxe in The Screening Room 729 SW 15 th. Located in downtown Portland, near Lincoln High School and Providence Park, just off the MAX. Easy on street parking & paid parking lot nearby. Look for upcoming Evite and please RSVP. $25 for current paid members and $30 for guests. We will have membership apps on hand as well as member resource packets to give out to all. If you have an to a past Skiyente and would like to have her invited see contact info below and /or any potential future Skiyente s. We will have a lovely brunch with debut of a Skiyente DVR, Door Prizes, swag and surprises The 60 th anniversary is all about diamonds.skiyente s say Black Diamonds are a girl s best friend. We are looking for donations for drawings, so if you have contacts to add, please contact us for this and future events. We will be raising more funds for the 60 th celebration by doing a 50/50 and selling tickets for drawing. Also looking for sister sponsors for our center pieces ($25) if you would like to promote your business please contact us and then take them home after the brunch! If you have some photos/videos you would like to offer please or mail them to us ASAP.
