1 18 April 2008 Mrs. Becker s Bits 8th Grade Language Arts: DOL quiz (Week 24) on Thursday. Spelling skills pages (Unit 34) due Friday; Spelling test (Unit 34) on Friday. We will study gerunds this week and review participles and infinitives. 7th Grade Literature: Students will continue reading the novel Across Five Aprils. 7M Quiz Tuesday on chapters 1-4; 7PA Quiz Wednesday on chapters 4 and 5. 7th Grade Language Arts: Spelling skills pages (Unit 34) due Thursday; Spelling test (Unit 34) on Friday. DOL quiz (Week 30) on Friday. Students will work with Sentence Pattern #15 Open With a Past Participle. If time allows, students will complete a writing exercise relating to Across Five Aprils. 8th Grade Drama: We will be making half-masques this week and discussing masquerade balls in Elizabethan times. Enjoy the weekend! Is Spring finally here? The Band Played On Mrs. Henrichs We are working hard to prepare for next Saturday, April 26th. We perform at Triad at 10:00a.m. so we should be back in town by 11:30a.m.. Permission slips went home today. The Last BAND PARENT MEETING of the year was last night. If you missed it, the agenda is posted on my website. The Spring Concert is on Thursday, May 8th at 7:00p.m.. It will include all 3 bands & the chorus. Be prepared for some interesting performances. 2 Shapin Up with Shubert -PE & Health The 7th grade class is now working on a paper for health class. This paper is explained on my website and we will work on this until next week. All other classes will complete fitness testing. Remember, I like to get outside when it is possible, please bring sweatshirts or sweatpants when it is chilly in the morning. Have a great weekend! We will also continue the punctuation unit next week; we will focus on apostrophes, hyphens, and abbreviations.
