7 PARENT ORGANIZATION EXPECTATIONS: As a parent of a team gymnast you are asked to actively participate in the GPO and its activities. Your participation is an important key to our team s success. MEETINGS: All Parents meet once a year for a team meeting. We have a meeting September 9 th, 2017 at noon in the YMCA pavilion. Please make every effort to attend! AWAY MEETS: All team parents are asked to support our team by wearing our team colors (red, white and black) at all competitions. Gymnastics apparel will be sold periodically through the season. FUNDRAISING Participation in two fundraisers is mandatory. As a result of successful fundraising all team participants receive 30% off of all meet registration fees. This percent is subject to increase or decrease at any time over the course of the year if the amount budgeted to offset this percent increases or decreases. (Volunteers earn $3 per hour at Home Meets and over Shut Down week. Hours are logged in by way of a sign in sheet. These hours are calculated and used towards the budgeted amount for the fundraisers each year). A buy-out option will be available for all fundraisers including home meets if you so choose. There is no buy-out necessary for shut down week. All help is needed and greatly appreciated.
8 HOME MEETS RESPONSIBILITIES: A minimum of 4 hours is required from each family. FEE: A $75 fee per home meet will be billed to your account if you have not signed-up to help and donated a food item at every home meet where it is requested. MEET SET-UP: The Thursday/Friday before a home meet is always used for competition set-up. This job requires a lot of physical work and it is necessary to have lots of hands available to make the job go quickly. REGISTRATION: Report time is 1 hour prior to the scheduled open stretch. You will check competitors in, write their number on their hand, and have coaches check their registered list for any errors. When this job is complete you will move to another job until your 4 hours is complete. ADMISSIONS: Report time is 1 hour prior to the scheduled open stretch. You will be responsible for taking payment for entry and checking for hand stamps. You must stay at the Admissions table until you are relieved by the next group of volunteers or we shut down for the night. CONCESSION STAND: Report time is 1 hour prior to the scheduled open stretch. You are expected to stay until the concession area is cleaned up at the end of the meet or you are relieved by the next group of volunteers. SCORER: Report time is 30 minutes prior to march-in time. You will be responsible for recording the judges scores on a score sheet. In the event that there is a problem with the electronic scoring unit, you will use the hand held units to flash the score to the audience. NOTE- At a level 3-4 girls meet, you will also be filling out achievement ribbons for each girl. After the last rotation, your help will be needed getting awards ready for the awards ceremony. ANNOUNCER: Report time is 1 hour prior to open stretch. You will be responsible for announcing all audience information, team march-in, rotations and awards. COACHES TABLE: Report time is 1 hour prior to open stretch. You will be responsible for keeping food and drinks stocked and coaches food area cleaned. Attend to Judges when needed. RESALE: Report to gym 30 minutes before open stretch. MEET CLEAN-UP: All things that were done for set-up must be done for cleanup. Many hands are needed. By the end of a meet weekend everybody is very tired so as many helping hands as we can get makes the job go faster so we can all retire from a job well done. If there is another session following your session, please stay until the volunteer for the next session arrives.
