1 FROM THE CORRAL The Monthly Newsletter of the Northern Mustang Corral Monthly Newsletter for May, 2014 M6A may sound like a subdivision of MI6 that conjures up visions of James Bond and the Secret Intelligence Service commonly known as Military Intelligence Section 6, but it is far from it both in logistics and substance. I think we might be getting a little off track so let s have Mr. Mitchell tell us the real story of M6A. My name is Rick Mitchell and I am the founder and editor of the MUSTANG SIX ASSOCIATION (M6A). In the 1980s, I developed the 1966 Sprint Registry that was later expanded into the Early Six Mustang Registry. At that time, we published quarterly newsletters devoted to the 64 ½ though 66 six cylinder Mustangs. I decided to get back into the Mustang hobby last year and wanted to expand the work I did 30 years ago to cover all six cylinder Mustangs from all model years. With the help of the internet, we send e-newsletters twice weekly containing feature short stories with pictures devoted to all six cylinder Mustangs. So what is the cost to join? Everything we do is absolutely free. We charge no dues whatsoever. How come? Since we have no development costs, we charge nothing to receive our e-publications. I am retired now and can devote the time it takes to run this project, and I am glad to work toward promoting our six cylinder Mustangs through M6A. As you probably have figured out by now, the two Mustangs pictured above are both six cylinders. We are an independent, all volunteer, non-profit organization. We are not directly associated with the Ford Motor Company. We are focused on providing high quality electronic publications. Although we charge no dues to receive our e-newsletters, we do ask all members to submit at least one six cylinder Mustang related short story, pictures, or other information about their cars at least once per year to contribute toward the legacy of the six cylinder Mustang.

We currently have about 150 members from five different countries; United States, Canada, New Zealand, France, and Italy, which I think is quite remarkable. We have also received many stories for Six Classics, Sprint Print, and Six Connection. These stories along with pictures from our members will become issues of Mustang Six Showcase. Many of these images are of magazine quality, and I would not be surprised if some are picked up by the national Mustang magazines. Please consider joining us. We are the only Mustang association today that is devoted exclusively to six cylinder Mustangs. If you own a Mustang with a six, then you have every reason to join and no reason not to. :) The key is membership participation, M6A s survival depends on it in the long run. 3 PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE By President Roger Sanzenbacher Now that the major festivities for the 50th Mustang Celebration are behind us, I m sure there will be pictures to share and stories to be told. I m sure the events at Charlotte and Las Vegas were great, especially the trips to and from the events. Tail of the Dragon anyone? Stay tuned for the June issue of our newsletters as we plan to have stories and pictures from the 50th events in Charlotte and Las Vegas. The local 50th event at Tinley park went very well. There was a great turnout with Mustang owners taking advantage of some very nice weather to bring out their Stangs. Currie Motors was on hand to display their Mustangs, and to give out goody bags and 50th Anniversary Mustang merchandise. Hagerty Insurance was also on hand giving out Dunkin Donuts coffee and doughnuts and an awesome 50th anniversary cake! No doubt there will be more 50th parties here and there, so the festivities will continue. Please welcome new members Joe Potempa, Chi Chi Garcia, and Kevin & Clara Kridle who have joined our club! Several of our club members will be attending the MCA show in Springfield, IL during the Memorial Day weekend. I know they re looking forward to it as I am. Also if plans go right, Kevin Benoit will be racing in Michigan on Sunday, May 25. So if you re not going to Springfield why not come on out and see some racing! Our next club meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 7PM, at the. And of course you ll have a chance to win the Pot-O-Money. Hope to see you there! ******* SECRETARY'S NOTES By Secretary John Garner The April meeting began at 7PM with 14 members present. The Pot O Money had a total of $23. Roger announced that we have two new members, Joe Potempa and Chi Chi Garcia. The March minutes were approved with no changes. Donna read the Treasurers report and it was accepted. Donna reported that we are receiving a steady stream of pre-registrations for our August show! Jim Benoit came to the meeting. Kevin Benoit's group will be leaving for the Mustang 50 th birthday celebration in Charlotte, NC from Hobby Lobby on April 16th at 4:15 AM. A local informal celebration, with our and Vintage Mustang Forum clubs as sponsors, will be held at the Gateway Classics car sale building in Tinley Park on April 19 th. Hagerty Insurance will be there with a Birthday cake. The club trip to White Fence Farm was a good time with 21 members bringing their Mustangs to the restaurant. John Garner has show flyers for our show in August if you need some. Remember, we need items for door prizes and the goody bags. The members present voted on the charity for our show this year. Two groups were considered. The Wounded Warriors and Blessings in a Backpack. The club chose Blessings in a Backpack as the charity recipient at our car show this year. Dan Hall and Kevin Benoit have designed a nice crew shirt for the club. Several have been ordered by members. The cost is approximately $60 plus tax and shipping. They hope to have some in time for the Charlotte show. Pat Hines pulled Marty Knights name for the Pot O Money and he was present and participating in the Pot. Congratulations. A second and third pull of names was done by Roger and Cliff Moore and Mike Giguere won Mustang playing card sets. The meeting ended at 7:24. ******* HOSS TRADING For Sale: 1965 Mustang convertible.
