Moose News Sellersville Moose Family Center #1539 Women of the Moose Chapter #471 Serving our Members and Community 97 years and counting Editor: Steve Wampole January/February Issue #1 At Sellersville Vol. Fire Company s annual open House, our Lodge Governor Steve Wampole and Administrator Phil Febus presented cases of Tommy Moose to local fire companies. Tommy Moose are given to Fire co., Police and Ambulance personnel, at no cost to them, they are to calm young children in a crisis situation, with the donations from our members we where able to give out 4 cases of Tommy Moose

From the Governor and Administrator: With the holidays over Steve and I hope that all of you and your families have a safe and prosperous New Year. Now as for our lodge we have a lot of stuff coming up this year. We start with the 2nd annul Big Daddy s Valentine s Dinner. Advance tickets for this event are a must there will be NO walk ins permitted. See the full page ad for more info. On February 13th the Moose Legion Activities Committee will be hosting Elvis. These ticket will go very quick so come in the lodge and pick up your tickets for this great event. Also in February the Park Ave committee will be holding their mid year dinner, on February 20th and you must have reservations by February 12th,2010. We want everyone to enjoy their lodge and to do this we need everyone to respect the fact that with every event we have deadlines for reservations. These deadlines are for us to order food or to set up seating and MUST be followed by all of us. We do not like having to tell people no but with cost keep going up we only want to order what we need. There will be a lot going on in the Lodge this spring do to the up coming Moose Legion All state celebration July 23-25th,2010. and just maybe a visit by the Kids from Moose heart that same weekend. We also are on the list for the Supreme Governor s visit. I would hope that all the Members of our lodge and chapter would put this on there calendar. As part of The supreme Governor s visit we will be having a dinner and meeting in his honor. So watch the boards for more details.

We said in the past this is your lodge and come in and enjoy. Now we are asking what we can do to make it a place for you and your family to come in more than you do now??? The hall is here for you to rent, we have movie nights for the whole family and even have had movie afternoon for the littler ones. It just is not fun when we only see some people on the day of a kids event. Please remember we hold other events so that we can pay for those kids events. So please come out and support all events so we can keep having bigger and better events just for the little one. In the next few months some of you will be contacted by Chris Perry he and his wife have been asked to get pictures of all members of the higher degree, for proper display with in the lodge s social quarters. If there is a member of your family that you have a photo of. Please pass the photo onto us so that we can make a copy of the photo for display and we will return your photo. Steve and I as well as others on the board are very interested in your opinion, we are asking that you take a minute send us an or drop a note in the suggestion box on the table, with what you would enjoy as a fund raiser or an event. Please help us to make this the best we can be. This can only happen with you input we thank you for your opinion and time. Thank you and Fraternally yours, Phil Febus and Steve Wampole Administrator Governor

Moose Legion Activities Committee Our Sellersville Moose Legion has been very active for the past two months. Here is an update of the fun, and the work that has been going on in the Lodge. On Monday, , we had a Conferral Ceremony for two new Moose Legion Brothers that joined our ranks. The Ceremony welcomes Brother Christopher Beck and Brother Rick Shelly into our ranks. Welcome aboard new Brothers! ELVIS NIGHT is set. The time and date is 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM on A limited amount of 200 tickets are available for the show. This will consist of two sets of Elvis, and two sets of Oldies to dance and enjoy. The following will be included with your ticket, Beer, Soda, Pretzels and Chips, along with two flowing fountains of Fuzzy Navels. Plenty of 50/50 chances will be sold, and this affair will be fun for everyone who attends. Tickets are $ each, and are behind the bar in the Social Quarters. All Lodge members and are welcome to buy your tickets for you and your guests, and really have a great time.

Our Moose Legion has purchased and donated two new Stainless Steel Roasting Pans for the Lodge. These new pans have replaced the aging pans that have been in use for quite some time. The Stainless Steel models will last the Lodge for many years to come, as compared to our old steel models. We have also purchased a new double sink, faucets and vanity that will be installed in the remodel of the main Men s Room. The vanity unit will be installed in the next few weeks, with labor from our Moose Legion Members. The planning of a Mystery Bus tour for our members of the Moose Legion is in the works. We are going to have an outing to visit other Lodges in the area, enjoy great food and drinks, see our neighboring Moose Lodges, and have a great time. This event will happen in the Spring of Moose Legion Members: Join us at our meetings, every second Monday of the month at 8:00 PM. We have a great time, get some work done, and make plans to keep our Lodge strong. As always, we look forward to welcoming new members into our ranks. Any Moose Legion Member can review the criteria to join (it s easy!), and join us in the fun that we have as Moose Legionnaires. We hope to see you soon. Fraternally Yours, Chris Perry Sellersville Moose # 1539 Chairman

Sports Chairman s Report At this time of the year the only things to report on are long board and Pinochle. Kay and Tony have won the first half on long board with team Janet and Billy just one match behind them. The second half by the time I m writing this is very much up for any of the 6 teams to take. As far as Pinochle goes I have no clue. By looking at their chart their players with win and loses but I could not tell you which team or person is winning. By the next news letter there will be a winner to report. By this time our lodge has two members in the Texas holdem tournament in Las Vegas. Gary Barndt and Todd Stayer both are there to play and we hope one takes the title and the other is the runner up. Good luck to both.
