2 Dear%Friends%and%Families%of%Yujin%Gakuen:% Wehavereachedthehomestretchofthe schoolyear.It shardtobelievethatthisis thelastnewsle>erofthisschoolyear.asilookbackoverthisyear,alothashappenedasa resultofcontribudonsfromourvolunteers.wehaveanewandupdatedwebsite,thanksto TamarMoyse. Wehavesomenewmuralstoenlivenourschoolbuilding,onetobrightenupthefrontentrance, thankstobaynegardner.twoothersintheback,thecombinedworkofbayneandourfourth andfikhgradestudents. OurPTOdidsomeamazingworkthisyearwithsomenewrestaurantfundraisers,avery successfulaucdon,andacombinedchildren sday/kitefesdval,cosponsoredbytheasian Council.Andtoendthisweek,wehaveaScienceFairtoshowcasethescienDficinquiryofour students.nextweek,wehavearockingfielddaythankyoutoallthevolunteerswhoorganized andputontheseevents.theyaddsomuchtoourschoolexperience. Thisyearwewereabletogetsomegrantfundstopurchasenewtechnology,iPads,repairour Taikodrums,purchasesomeJapaneseteachingmaterials.ThankstoRitaGillihanwhosought outandfoundgrantsforus.thankstoherwork,wearealsoabletogeta$30,000matching salarygrantfromthejapanfoundadon.thiswillhelpusrelylessonthefundraisingeffortsof theptotoassistuswithstaffingfornextyear. I mthankfultoallofyouwhohavegivensomuchofyourselvestomakethisagreatyear.ialso wanttotakethismomenttothankourwonderfulstafffortheirdrelesswork,teachingyour childreneachday.thisyear,wehadsomegreatpeoplewhojoinedourstaff,butsadlywillbe going.jusdnesmith,whocametousthisyeartoteachthirdgradeandthecombined3 rd and4 th gradeclasswillbeleavingusthisyear.wehaveinterviewedforanewthirdgradeenglish teacher,andwehopewehaveanewhirebynextweek.iwanttothankchasdtydoty,who cameinduringmiddleoftheyeartoteach5 th grademath.whileherjobwastemporarythis year,shewillapplyforourpart3dme4 th and5 th grademathposidonnextyear. Thisyear,wewereabletobringintwonewbilingualeducaDonassistants,MonicaVanderbush andaimeejones3suematsu,bothformeryujingakuenstudents.theyleavethisyeartopursue theirgoalsofbecomingteachers.iwishthemluck,andiknowtheywillmakefineteachersone day.wewillbehiringanewjapanesebilingualassistantfornextyear.so,ifyouknowsomeone whoisinterested,pleaseletthemknowwearehiring. Aswewinddowntheschoolyear,Iwillbeworkingtopreparefornextyear,thebiggestchange beingthetransidontofull3daykindergarten.whilethisisexcidngforus,wewillhavealotof worktodooverthebreak,hiringnewstaff,makingroomforanaddidonalkindergarten classroom.
