1 Mar-Apr 2018 Hi, to all, We are well into the new year and there are so may holidays the first part of any year: New Year s Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, Valentine s Day, Mardi Gras, Ash Wednesday, Presidents Day, St. Patrick s Day, Easter wow. The thing that comes to mind for me with all these special days is COLOR. The bright lights and fireworks for celebrating the new year, MLK s speech given especially for people of color, Valentine s Day with red and pink hearts (and I need to add the tasty browns of chocolate!). Mardi Gras celebrations include the purples, greens and golds of beads and decorations. Then there s gray for Ash Wednesday, patriotic colors as we honor out country s leaders and green shamrocks for St. Pat s Day. I look forward to the springtime pastels associated with Easter. From grays to gold, it s certain a painting time of year! There are great activities scheduled following each chapter meeting. Plan to stay to paint! But whether you paint at meetings, at seminars or at home, remember to Julie KEEP A SMILE IN YOUR HEART AND A BRUSH IN YOUR HAND! From Our 1st V.P. Our 40th Year Pikes Peak Decorative Painters 40th Anniversary year I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to Becky Coffey for an outstanding February program--what a beautiful butterfly and a great new technique to try on other projects! Now on to March...Jo, Terry and Maddie have designed a wonderful program (a sunflower on a wine bottle) for us, so I hope you can join in. Looking forward to April, Ruth Rodriguez has graciously agreed to teach us painting on a wine glass...stay tuned for more information and pictures for that project. See the next page about what to bring for the March program. Cec
