In this course, you will learn the art of tying dry flies, wet flies, streamers and how to fish them to fool a hungry trout. You will also learn about the feeding habits of trout, as well as the various aquatic insects that the flies represent. Requirement: Participants require basic fly tying equipment, such as a vice, scissors, bobbins, hackle pliers and threads. All are available at stores such as Bass Pro, LeBaron s and specialty fly shops. We will begin with small projects and work our way up to creating hats, cowls, scarves and much more. Materials are extra, costing approximately $30. Learn how to skills and master the art of drawing. Participants will work on the basic principles of drawing and learn to shade, work with perspective, landscapes, shadows, portraits, etc. You will learn different techniques to simplify drawing in a relaxed and fun environment, and have an opportunity to practise your newly learned skills. 3 Quilting: Beginners Learn the basics of quilting during this weekly program. You will be shown how to use tools, including a rotary cutter and portable sewing machine, which will have you quilting small projects. Materials not included. Requirements: You must bring your own sewing machine to class and be able to cut your own fabric. Thursdays 9:00 am 12:00 pm Craft Room Stained Glass Program General Information Please note that closed-toe shoes are required and there is a significant amount of standing required for these classes. The use of tools and most materials are provided for instructional classes, but colour choice for projects will depend on availability at the time of purchase. Stained Glass: Beginners In this program, you will be cutting, foiling, grinding and soldering to create a masterpiece that you can enjoy forever. Learn to make two lovely sun catchers using the copper foil method. All materials included, as well as the use of tools. The project for this class will be a small panel. Recent stained glass experience is required. All materials are included except for framing material. One of the requirements includes participating in a mandatory training session for all of our equipment and updating this training/refresher every two years. No one will be admitted into the Hobby Shop to work without an instructor in the room. Safety first!
