GILGIT CUP It was a full weekend of polo at the Calgary Polo Club on Saturday July. 12th and Sunday July 13th.

Everyone seemed to have a fantastic time, and we could not have asked for better weather and field conditions.

1 GILGIT CUP It was a full weekend of polo at the Calgary Polo Club on Saturday July. 12th and Sunday July 13th. There was no shortage of action as 4 teams competed for the Gilgit Cup. Everyone seemed to have a fantastic time, and we could not have asked for better weather and field conditions. 3 POLO CANADA GENERAL MEETING The Polo Canada Annual General meeting held at the Calgary Polo Club Cantina on Saturday, July 12 was well attended. It was obvious by the reports that Polo Canada's Team, Sonja Norgaard - Manager, Greg Garvan - Field Director and Julie Parsonage - Program Director have done a tremendous job in promoting polo in Canada. Polo Canada wishes to extend a special thank you to the Members and special guests who travelled from afar to attend the meeting: Michael Adey (Victoria, BC); Caro Angus (Port Hope, ON); Ian Angus (Port Hope, ON); George Dill - USPA Pacific Northwest Circuit Governor (Fife, WA); Kristine Hardwick (Kelowna, BC); Frances Harley- Urtasun (Edmonton, AB); Wilbur O'Ferrall - PTF US Field Director (Stevinson, CA); Carol Pennycook (Hudson, QC); Don Pennycook (Hudson, QC); Michael Sifton (King City, ON); Lynn Thompson - PTF US Secretary (Menlo Park, CA). J.B. CROSS CUP There is a definite link between the Cross name and the history of polo in Canada. The J.B. Cross trophy was donated by the Cross Family after J.B. s death in February 1990, to honor his fifty years of generosity, leadership and fine play at the Calgary Polo Club. The 2003 J.B. Cross Cup was full of excitement and action, most of the games were won by a very narrow margin. In the end Fish Creek prevailed by going undefeated for the entire tournament.. Winners of the 2003 J.B. Cross Cup: Fish Creek: Julie Roenisch, Fred Mannix Jr. Donald Cross presenting, Tomas Pieres, Fred Mannix Greg Garvan was on-hand following the meeting to showcase Polo Canada's new high-tech mobile electronic polo pony simulator. 6 SHEEP CREEK CUP MATCH GAME A match game was played in conjunction with the Ups and Downs Masquerade Ball Fundraiser at the Ranch House on Thursday July.17th at the Calgary Polo Club. The game was held in front of a large group of people who were there to support a wonderful cause and watch an exciting polo match.
