All Students are invited to participate. --Reading books or seeing their movies not required! Total votes from all Carroll County high schools are combined to determine which advance to the next round. ROUND 3 VOTING STARTS NEXT MONDAY

11 Special Olympics Training Dates Students interested in being fans for the April 20, 2016 Special Olympics must attend a oneafternoon training to be eligible to participate and for service hours. The dates to choose from are: Monday March 21 & Tuesday March 22 Time for training is: 2:30pm to 4pm at the latest, Doors will close promptly at 2:30pm Location: G13 You must be on-time the day you choose.

12 Special Olympics Paperwork The bus will be filled according to who has their paperwork in soonest after training with their trip fee. 14 World Down Syndrome Day is next Monday, March 21. The reason it falls on March 21 is because Down syndrome is a 3rd chromosome on the 21st chromosome, hence Wear mismatched socks or blue and yellow to show your support.

17 April is Autism Awareness Month

18 Did you know??? North Carroll High School houses the only Autism Program for High School students in the entire county? The program will triple in size when it relocates to Winters Mill next year. Autism affects 1 in 68 children. Autism costs a family upwards of $60,000 a year on average. 35 percent of young adults (ages 19-23) with autism have not had a job or received postgraduate education after leaving high school. (Shattuck et al., 2012)

We will also collect at meet the coach night. Anyone not able to pay at these times, please stop by the main office or see Mr. Warehime Athletic fees is $105, and both the family fee, and the dual sport are $150 The corollary corn toss fees is $50 Checks are payable to NCH, but the funds are sent to CCPS

26 REACH FOR THE STARS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM The Dixon/Kluge Long and Foster group will award a $750 Scholarship to 2 high school seniors who will be attending a 2 or 4 year college. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA and a demonstrated record of having made a significant contribution to their high school and local community. Applications are in the Counseling Office. Due April 30

27 Engineering Society of Baltimore Scholarship INFORMATION ON THREE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE COUNSELING OFFICE. GRANTS AND LOANS ARE INCLUDED

28 CCEA Scholarship $500 TO A STUDENT WHO IS PLANNING TO PURSUE A DEGREE IN EDUCATION. AWARD IS BASED ON FINANCIAL NEED, ACADEMIC STANDING, ATTENDANCE, LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE AND MOTIVATION TO PURSUE A CAREER IN EDUCATION. APPLICATIONS ARE ON LINE OR IN THE COUNSELING OFFICE. DEADLINE IS MARCH 31.
