All Talent Search students are encouraged to come!
2 Southern Oregon University College visit will be January 19 th and 20 th for Talent Search students. See Mr. Kubli in Rm 133 for a permission slip. MHS Football Banquet will be in the MHS cafeteria next Monday Dec. 11. All players and their parents are invited to enjoy some food, dessert, and a night of celebrating a successful fun season. Coach Lemmons MARSHFIELD UPBEATS DANCE CLINIC WHEN: FRIDAY JAN. 19, 12:00-3:00 WHERE: MARSHFIELD MAIN GYM The Marshfield Upbeats will teach the participants a dance routine that they can perform at the Boys Varsity Basketball game the same night. The cost is $30 which includes the 3 hour clinic, a T-shirt and free admission to the basketball game for the participant and one adult. Performance is not required and not considered part of the clinic fee. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and shoes, bring a snack, drink or water bottle, and come ready to dance! This clinic is open to girls and boys K - 6th grade. Students can take a bus from their school to Marshfield. PARTICIPANTS MUST BE PICKED UP AT 3:00, no bus will be available. They may not hang out unsupervised in the gym until 7:30 game time. Please return your form to the main office of your building or Marshfield by Jan 5. Late registrations will be accepted, but it will not be possible to order T-shirts after January 5, MEET IN THE DANCE ROOM, AT 7:15 PM, PRIOR TO TIP OFF OF THE BOYS GAME Marshfield Speech and Debate Presents Christmas Family Feud An Interactive Murder Mystery Marshfield Cafeteria December 7 th at 7:00pm Staff/Students $5 Adults $7 The contestants, stars and directors are all enjoying the production until tragedy strikes. Help us solve the mystery. Feel free to wear an ugly holiday sweater. 3 A WINTER NIGHT UNDER THE LIGHTS DECEMBER 9TH 8:30-11:00PM IN THE HARDING MULTI PURPOSE ROOM $15 TICKETS AT THE DOOR + STUDENT ID MARSHFIELD, COQUILLE, BANDON, REEDSPORT AND NORTH BEND ALL WELCOME (9 th -12 only) Dr. Suess How the Grinch Stole Christmas: The MHS Charity Program will be holding a Fund-Raiser on Monday, December 18 th at 7:00pm the Egyptian Theatre. All seats are $5.00. The MHS Band Program's Winter Concert will be on Wednesday, December 13th, at 7pm in the MHS Auditorium. All MHS Band Program students in the Marshfield Concert Band, Marshfield Symphonic Band, and Marshfield Jazz Ensemble will be performing. Admission is free, and we hope to see you there! Senior Photos Class of 2018: Please submit your senior photo to the yearbook staff by December 15 before Winter Break. Digital photos must be submitted in jpeg format. You may the photo to Ms. Howe at StephaniH@coos-bay.k12.or.us or bring a jump drive or CD to room 152. You may also bring a physical copy of a photo to scan. If a photo is not submitted, the school photo will be used or we will take a generic photo to include. Please no weapons or hunting game. Adequate clothing is required. Pets are ok. If your photo is deemed inappropriate, you will be asked to submit an alternative or the school photo will be used. This Club s Got Talent! The Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon will hold a talent show on Friday, December 1, from 7-8:30 p.m. The event is free to attend, with concessions and a 50/50 raffle benefiting the Club Teen Center. Acts include vocalists, gymnasts, and musicians from the Club. There will be a Southern Oregon University admission representative here on November 30th at9:15am. Any interested juniors or seniors should attend this presentation in room 135 in student services.
4 The Mahiscan is now accepting applications for second semester. To apply, get an application from Ms. Howe in Rm. 152 or student services. Applications include teacher recommendations, so plan ahead! Completed applications are due January 5th to Ms. Howe. All grade levels may join including 8th grade. Yearbook is held during 7th Period; you must be able to attend this period to join staff. _ Attention Senior Class of 2018! The discount deadline for ordering your cap and gown and grad supplies is quickly approaching. Orders placed after December 15th will cost more so please get your order placed ASAP at highschool.herffjones.com or get your order form in the mail! Call with questions. Student Vue and Parent Vue apps have been updated. Please remove app and download it again, or reset the URL to Pirate Underground, a club started at MHS to encourage artistic expression, will B in the library after school from 3:20-4:30. Mr. Burgher and Mrs. Hampton will be in the library every Monday and Wednesday after school until 4:30 for students to gather for a time to hang out and play board games, chess, card games, Magic, computer games, etc. We will seek input from those who attend to make plans for future club meetings. Everyone from grades 8-12 is welcome to attend. See Mr. Burgher in Room 610 in Pirate Hall or Mrs. Hampton in the library. Z Club will be meeting every Thursday at lunch in Room 131 (at the end of the long hall that leads to the student services area). All students interested in doing service, developing leadership skills, and learning about careers should check out Z Club. Everyone is welcome to join. The Marshfield Pioneer Cemetery is off limits to students. Any students the cemetery may receive disciplinary action. Pirate Apparel now available online! Keep checking back for deals and new logos! STUDENTS: Lunch deposits need to be deposited in the box by the main office before 11:00am to be posted for that day s lunch. If you are adding money to your lunch account,
