2 FROM OUR HOST It is my great honor to invite you to We Are The Mighty s third annual Rob Riggle InVETational Golf Classic! I sincerely hope you ll join us and help celebrate two things I really love veterans and golf -- all in support of Semper Fi Fund. The Semper Fi Fund is dedicated to providing urgently needed resources and support for Post 9/11 combat wounded, critically ill and catastrophically injured members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families during their recovery and transition back into their communities. Many of you know that I joined the United States Marine Corps when I was 19 years old, in I served nine years in Active Duty and 14 more in the Reserves. I served as a pilot, Civil Affairs Officer and a Public Affairs Officer in Liberia, Kosovo, Albania and Afghanistan, alongside our nation s finest men and women. I retired from the Marine Corps in 2013, but you never really stop being a Marine. I ve been fortunate to enjoy a successful and deeply fulfilling career in comedy and acting. I m also fortunate to live in a nation where a person can pursue his or her dreams. I believe it s important for us to honor and support those service members who are out there everyday protecting our nation. The InVETational has brought veterans, civilians and celebrities together to successfully raise awareness and funds - $300,000 for the Semper Fi Fund s critical mission. Since its founding by a small group of military spouses in 2004, Semper Fi Fund has provided $178 million in assistance to more than 21,000 service members and their families. Semper Fi (Always Faithful), Lt. Col. Rob Riggle, USMC RETIRED December in Southern California is a golf lovers dream... so come on out on Dec. 3rd at the North Ranch Country Club along with a bunch of my celebrity friends, some wounded warriors (who play a mean game of golf), and the California sunshine to support those who've worn our nation s uniform. The Semper Fi Fund is dedicated to providing immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post-9/11 combat wounded, critically ill and catastrophically injured members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. We deliver the resources they need during recovery and transition back to their communities, working to ensure no one is left behind. Our streamlined structure keeps overhead as low as possible because we realize every dollar saved can be put to better use serving those who have served us all in the ongoing job of preserving our nation s freedom. Since our inception in May 2004, we have been able to provide over $176 million in assistance to more than 21,000 service members and their families. The Semper Fi Fund is exceptionally rated among veteran nonprofits: We pledge to stay by the service member s side throughout recovery, to help that service member as they transition back home. We have consistently received an A+ from CharityWatch, one of only two veteran nonprofits to receive this rating, and eight consecutive 4-star ratings from Charity Navigator, plus a Platinum Seal of Transparency from Guidestar.
