1 Serbian Australian Interstate Challenge The last weekend in February 2015 saw the Howlong Golf Club - Albury light up with Serbians from all over Australia, as they made their way for Golf, booze & a consistent Roast Pork & Lamb Spit dinner. Familiar faces from years gone by, new faces & family all got together to get their Serb on, with drink, banter & music, kicking off Friday & running right through to Sunday night. The boys from South Australia made their way over by bus & as they were greeted at Howlong Golf Club, they d already started the party once they left Adelaide. Likewise, the boys from WA, made the long trek from Perth, kicked back to enjoy the drinks & food provided by this year s hosts & get started to what was promising to be a super weekend. The Serbian Golf Club Canberra were the 2015 hosts, & key figures George Pudja & Brank Zec had started the greeting party, with Georges back-room staff going out of their way to make this the best Interstate Challenge to date. Fortunately for the owner/operators of Howlong Golf Club used their great business sense & had the resort exclusively for the Interstate Challenge, as I would imagine many of the other guest s would ve either left the motel in disgust or forced to join in the drinking & eating. As the Friday night greeting party carried into the early hours of Saturday morning, the pool area had looked like a Beer-fest bomb had landed in the middle, some party goers were found still asleep outside using the empties as pillows. Saturday The Chipping Competition & what followed The Canberra Golf Club had organised a chipping competition to allow all of the member (drunk & sober) to try their skill from 75 meters to try & hand a ball nearest to a pin & claim the View Finder first prize. Sadly, member of the Serbians need the View Finder to see the pin, as you could well imagine the haze around many of the party goers had not cleared just jet. Ray Desancic was sitting pretty for a long time with his chip shot was looking like the best in show with a strong hold on the prize, however, Peter Kulincevic ended up with the prize, however, rumour has it, that this was a donation. Once the group photo was completed, it was time to play some golf, the groups were sorted, the heat was searing & beer had temporarily stopped. The groups went out & played to their best & the usual suspects were out there to make an impression, VSGC s own Sladan Krsic was playing the house down, to which many people were placing their money on Sladan to take the chocolates. Other noticeable players were Geelong s Mick Mirovic, former Perth Glory Soccer Star Bobby Despotovski & far too many South Australians (too many to mention), who not only had the award for drinking, but were looking like the State winners. Like me & many other participants, Saturday night was a blur, I can safely say, that Jovan, Savo (from SA), Obrad & Dragan (7ft tall) Ivkovic were doing their Mid-night Rambler rant, jumping into the many rooms & dry humping many of the members, especially a one legged Aca Nikolic (who could run away easy target). Boys, all habits die hard so the party goes on.

2 Sunday. Ohhhh Sunday Sunday morning was the complete opposite to Saturday, the rain howled, the light was dim & the temperature was down to single figures. The rain continued to come down, the lightening & thunder was in abundance, however, lurking in the groups was some scintillating golf, again Sladan Krsic was carrying the flag for VSGC, George Simic was doing his best to keep Geelong on the map & sadly Mick Mirovic had dropped off the pace. The South Australians were starting to carve up the course, & were looking like they would take the honours & win the Interstate Challenge, NSW, Canberra, WA & Victoria could only watch on & admire. By day s end there were very few surprises, the SA Serbians collected first prize, another 15 slabs of beer were drank, to which the Howlong Club had been drunk dry 3 days straight & there was Pork & Lamb Spit as the primary food source. Overall, we would like to congratulate The Serbian Golf Club Canberra for an absolute fantastic weekend, the organisation, the hospitality & good times cannot be put in words, however, I can seriously say this would have to rate as the best Interstate Challenge to date. So to George Pudja & his band of merry men we say thank you & the Victorian Serbians will do their best to make the 2016 as good as what we experienced in Howlong.
